12 Days of Books | Blogmas 2020

I created this post a few years ago, you can check out the embarrassing 1st post here! I’d done many tags since I have started book blogging and wanted to add to the fun of the season by creating my own! I thought this song was very fitting for a tag and hope everyone enjoys it! I worked really hard trying to come up with categories that fit into each section of the song, its corny and some of it is a stretch, but whatever!  If you decide to participate and do this tag I would love for you to leave your link so that I may see the choices you made for your 12 Days of Books! Check out my post from last year here! All these books will be from those I read this year!

On the first day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
A Partridge in a Pear Tree  : The Partridge Stood Alone In The Pear Tree? What is Your Favorite Stand Alone of 2020?

This was not easy since surprisingly I read quite a few amazing stand alone books this year. I kept coming back to one that I think about a lot and really want to reread soon. I really need more people to read this one because I think it is a hidden gem that did not get much chatter. That book would be Belle Révolte by Linsey Miller

On the second day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Two Turtle Doves : Love Is In The Air, Who Is You OTP?

As I was thinking about this question there was one couple that stood out that I always was in love with each of them individually. So how could I not think they were an OTP! That would be Skyler and Ladon from The Blood King by Abigail Owen

On the third day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Three French Hens :  In The Spirit Of Threes, What Is The Best Trilogy Your Have Read?

I know I am late to the party on this one and thank my friend Bri for making me read the Selection Trilogy by Kiera Cass! I am counting only the originally trilogy because I thought it was a good stopping point and don’t plan to read the others.

On the fourth day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Four Calling Birds : Since Series Usually Consist of Four or More Books What Is Your Favorite Series?

I didn’t complete any series that are fully published, but read a lot of books in series. The one series that stood out this year as unique, fun and steamy, was the Brimstone INC series by Abigail Owen

On the fifth day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Five Golden Rings : One Ring To Rule Them All! Who is Your Favorite Villain/Antagonist?

I don’t want to share the name of this one because it will give away one of the reveals. Its the villain from Deal With The Devils by Kit Rocha. Who the villain was caught me off guard. I had a little inkling of who it might be , but it definitely gave a unique twist to the overall mission and elements of the story.

On the sixth day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Six Geese a Laying : Creation Is A Beautiful Thing! What is Your Favorite World/World-Building?

I think my favorite world was in The Winter Duke by Claire Eliza Bartlett, but I don’t think the overall world-building was there. I think the book that had the best world-building is Champion of the Titan Games Brandon Mull. Mull does such a fantastic job at the details and making you feel like you are there!

On the seventh day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Seven Swans a Swimming: Who Needs Seven Swans When All It Takes Is One Good Animal Sidekick To Make A Hero Rock! Who Is Your Favorite Animal Sidekick?

I can recall really reading many books that had animal sidekicks, but even if I had, I think I would have still picked Maul! Maul is a hellhound in the Inferno Rising series by Abigail Owen. He doesn’t talk but still has some sass and is so protective of Kasia and Skyler!

On the eighth day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Eight Maids a Milking: Milk Is So 18th Century! Which Book or Series Takes Beverages/Food To A Whole New Level?

I guess this wasn’t something I really paid attention to while reading. I can’t really remember many books talking about food or at least enough so I remembered. The only book that I remembered some focus on food was The Daring of Della Dupree by Natasha Lowe! The author even had recipes at the end!

On the ninth day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Nine Ladies Dancing : Dancing is Just One Skill of a Lady! Who is Your Favorite Kickass Female Lead?

This was not easy as I read so many books with some kickass female leads. The one that still remains one of my favorites is Mercy Thompson ! I read both Iron Kissed and Bone Crossed by Patricia Briggs!

On the tenth day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Ten Lords a Leaping: Leaping Lords? How About Who Is Your Favorite Leading Lad?

Another very hard choice, but I definitely have a book boyfriend type, so its no surprise (well at least to myself) that my favorite leading lad was Alexei from Arctic Bite by N.J Walters

On the eleventh day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Eleven Pipers Piping: Where Would We Be Without Music? What Is Your Favorite Book or Bookish Thing That Deals With Music? (It can be about music, reference music a lot etc.)

The only book that I read this year that involved music (to my knowledge and memory) was a reread. Although it was a reread I still thought it was fantastic and that was This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab!

On the twelfth day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
12 Drummers Drumming: Drum Roll Please…………………….What Is Your Favorite Read of This Year?

Like any true book lover could pick just one. I will be posting my top reads of 2020 soon!

I hope you participate in this tag and leave me links to your answers! Happy Holidays!
