Fierce Female Reads Recommendations From The Book Community

One of my favorite parts to being a member of the online book community is all of the book recommendations. I have been able to discover some amazing books and books that quickly became my favorites due to recs from other book lovers. I thought that it was only right to include recommendations from others as it would make a more diverse reading list than if it just came from me. I asked twitter a couple weeks ago about what some of their favorite fierce female reads are and why.

If you have not already make sure to check out Fierce Female Reads February Announcement post and all of the fun and excited things happening this February in the book community revolving around Fierce Females !

Izzy from The Exact Opposite of Okay She's the victim of revenge porn but she works her way through it, is so strong, sarcastic and witty, and manages to stay a caring person when it seems like the whole world is saying she's awful
Izzy O Neill from Laura Steven's The Exact Opposite of Okay
The Bone Witch by Rin Chupeco, Tea is kick ass.
Zelie from Tomi Adeyemi Children of Blood and Bone!!!!
Zelie from Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi ! Fierce is basically her definition
Zoey from Sawkill Girls by Claire Legrans and Sadie from Sadie by Courtney Summers
I'd have to say Kya Clark, the "Marsh Girl" from Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens. She basically raises herself in the marsh from age 10 which is pretty fierce.
HANNA DONNELLY from The Illuminae Files by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman.
My first thought was Elizabeth Frankenstein from THE DARK DESCENT OF ELIZABETH FRANKENSTEIN by Kiersten White.
Feyre from Court of Thorn and Roses trilogy by Sarah J Maas.
If we're talking about characters, I'd have to go with Circe by Madeline Miller! The book was amazing, but the witch herself was absolutely outstanding
Mine would 100% be Marni Mullins from The Tattoo Thief by Alison Belsham.
The first who came to mind, is Donatella from Legendary by Stephanie Garber. I adore her rash, yet clever nature! Her constant sass is another delight, and her self-less desire to save her mother is so heartwarming!
I still haven’t read any fiction from 2018 but Michelle Obama Becoming was amazing. She is such an amazing, fierce woman and wonderful role model
Rhiannon from In Bloom by CJ Skuse !! I just want to read about her life everyday! Such a witty character too.
For nonfiction, I vote for Tara Westover who wrote Educated. She was raised in a survivalist, abusive family in Idaho, but went on to earn a PhD from Cambridge. Her ability to reflect on and view her family with objectivity after such an insular childhood was astounding.
Maya from Problems by Jade Sharma is a briilliant character from a brilliant book.
I’d go with Dr. Jean McClellan in VOX. When women’s voices were taken away, she fought to find away to be heard.
Mine would have to be VOX by Christina Dalcher - such a strong, feminist read!
I would name Alice Proserpine from 'Hazel Wood' by Melissa Albert. Alice us a flawed heroine. But despite all her shortcomings she proves that you are not q slave to your destiny. You can choose what you want to be.
Lisa Cutts Lost Lives features some kick ass females. Our House by Louise Candlish is amazing! I’ve gone with female character and author!
