So I have been looking into going to BookExpo America (BEA) 2014 (Bookcon) and have realized I just really won’t have the money or time for it this year. This is super upsetting because I really wanted to go. And to make this bad day worse, I was cleaning up my room and reorganizing some books and re-realized something so depressing. Last year when I was visiting my parents house the basement flooded (that is where my room is) and some of my stuff was on the floor and one of those things was my copy of Walden & Civil Disobedience by Henry David Thoreau. It had some water damage, but I realized the damage has gotten worse and the book is falling apart. I really like the edition I own right now and when I went on Amazon to purchase a new copy I noticed that I would have to pay more for it then what I paid the first time I bought the book. Things like this are so upsetting, not like it is super expansive to replace, but it is not a serious necessity right now and its just the principle of the thing.
