Top Ten Tuesday| Top Ten Young Adult Books I Can’t Believe I Haven’t Read

Untitled design-9
This weeks Top Ten Tuesday topic hosted by Broke and Bookish is Top Ten Books I Can’t Believe I Haven’t/Want To Read From X Genre. I am choosing Young Adult. Although there are many books in other genres that I can’t believe I haven’t read. I feel like I am most well read in Young Adult books and I feel like there are some that are must reads or books that you can’t claim you are a YA reader with not having read. Some of these will be series.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series by Rick Riordan

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

Chronicles of Narnia by C.S Lewis

The Mortal Instruments/ The Mortal Devices by Cassandra Clare

The Daughter of Smoke and Bones Trilogy by Laini Taylor

Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell

The Abhorsen Trilogy by Garth Nix

The Legend Trilogy by Marie Lu

Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

What are some young adult books it seems like everyone else has read but you?

  1. I have to admit to never reading a book by Becca Fitzpatrick! There are some great books on your list though! I particularly enjoyed Eleanor & Park and The Book Thief.

  2. I haven’t read Throne of Glass or the Chronicles of Narnia (but I liked the movie), though I’ve heard nothing but good things. I definitely recommend PJO, The Book Thief, The Infernal Devices, Daughter of Smoke and Bone, and Eleanor and Park. They’re all so good!

  3. Oh when I posted my TTT saying I’ve never read The Mortal Instrument or Daughter of Smoke and Bone series I was embarrassed to have missed such staples. I’m just glad I’m not alone haha! I know there is a lot of hype around the Throne of Glass series but if you enjoy high fantasy the flailing makes sense, you should give it a go when you have a chance.

  4. I can’t believe I haven’t read The Book Thief either! That sounds like such a great book. I have read Eleanor and Park and LOVED it. It was such a good book.

  5. I’m surprised about the Mortal Instruments series! I have read the first few but fell out of it after that. I hope you get to read E&P – it’s fantastic! And I really loved Hush, Hush. Great list!

  6. I’ve got Daughter of Smoke & Bone, Legend, and Eleanor & Park on my TTT as well. I hope we both get to read them soon. I even own all three of those so you would think I’d have read them!
Throne of Glass is really, really good, so I hope you get to read it!
    My TTT!

  7. Your list makes me feel better about the YA books I still haven’t read. I was starting to think I was the only one who hadn’t read The Book Thief or Chronicles of Narnia yet.

I highly recommend the Daughter of Smoke & Bone trilogy and the Abhorsen trilogy. Those are two of my favorite series of all time!

  8. Eleanor and Park, Throne of Glass, Daughter of Smoke and Bone and Percy Jackson are all on my TBR as well. I’ve read City of Bones but wasn’t crazy about it so I’ve been hesitant to pick up the second book though I hear the third book is the best and that makes me really want to push forward. I have read The Book Thief though– actually I listened to the audio book and it was amazing!

  9. I haven’t read anything by Rick Riordan yet either… *hangsheadinshame* I really want to change that soon!! And I really recommend the Throne of Glass series! 🙂 🙂

(also I just wanted to let you know that I nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award.. 🙂 )
