Today’s Question: What books did you hate reading in school?

I just graduated from college and so there were also books I had to read that I really disliked. Many of them were non-fiction and textbooks so I will go back to those great days of high school. I have to say I really did enjoy a lot of the books I was made to read in high school there were those great ones like Great Expectations by Charles Dickens and Lord of the Flies by William Golding. I have to say though the one that I really did not enjoy was Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka. I don’t know if I would appreciate it more now and maybe understand it better, but I do not think I will ever read it again.

What are some books you had to read in school and did not enjoy?

  1. I really really hate The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time and Wide Sargasso sea that I had to read for my AS levels (and nearly failed my A Levels/College because I hated the books so much the information didn’t go in and couldn’t do the exam for them properly).

  2. The worst book I had to read for school (and probably ever) is Call of the Wild by Jack London. I just hated it so much. I also read Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card for a literature circle, and I really despised it as well.
