One of my favorite things about books are the quotes you find hidden between the pages that capture the essence of the story and the heart of the author. They are words crafted by someone laying it all out on the line, sharing the inner workings of their mind and its like a small window into their life because those words are their own.
“Damaged is not always a weakness, she says, and the thought warms me. “
-Curse of Shadows by A.K. Wilder
“Maybe this is what happy is supposed to be. A person, a place. A single moment in time.”
– In the Weeds by B.K Borison
“I have always believed that in our capitalist, consumerist society, we devour each other.”
– Tender is the Flesh by Agustina Bazterrica
“One thing Red had learned from years of reading and movie watching was that people were far scarier than any disease or zombie or alien or face-eating monster.” ― Christina Henry, The Girl in Red
“If we don’t pretend we’re laughing, we might have to admit just how broken we are.” ― T. Kingfisher, What Moves the Dead
“Faith was like a fragile butterfly with gossamer wings.”
-Curse of Deception by C.R. Robertson
“She was the one light in my world of perpetual darkness.”
-Curse of Darkness by C.R Robertson
“I can be in a room full of people that I know and still not feel like I belong” ― Tessa Bailey, It Happened One Summer
“Even an ember of night can be a beacon in the darkness.” ― Molly E. Lee, Ember of Night
“Because the truth is, no matter how much power you have, sometimes broken things have to stay broken, even though we might wish otherwise.” ― Tracy Wolff, Court
