I have found out that I am not really into angels, I find the whole trope to be unrealistic ( I know what you are thinking, but you read books about zombies, vampires, werewolves and sorcery.) I do not know if it is the fact that I haven’t found a book I absolutely love that follows a storyline about angels. There is just something weird about the worlds and use of angels and I believe this book also fell into that category for me. Don’t get me wrong beautifulily sculpted males are always a winner whether they have wings or not. And for that reason, I have to say I was a fan of Raffe for the fact that he is a hot (mostly shirtless) witty male with some great sass.Not that I am saying I completely hated the book, but I was not really having the whole angel thing.

Now that I am done with my rant about angels I will get to the book “Angelfall” by Susan Ee. The dialog that takes place between Penryn and Raffe is incredibly snarky and very entertaining. I have to say that the relationship between these two was the only saving quality for this novel for me. I felt that the plot line fell flat and besides a few certain parts that were exciting and intriguing (cannibalism? How cool is that)
Not to say anything bad about Susan Ee, I thought her writing was good. I just didn’t feel like there was enough world building or character development (especially introductory development to either). Many people will argue with me about this statement because many reviews I have read they rave about the world building . I did appreciate the darkness that engulfed this novel. I‘m always about for the unexpected and dark aspects of thought to be happy and friendly things ( such as killer angels).
This book was boring up until almost 50 pages left. When stuff actually started to take place and became enticing. I’m slightly disappointed. Overall with this book and I don’t think it lived up to its hype. I have to say I honestly am not sure if I will continue on with this trilogy. (maybe if I can find the next books really cheap!)
