Blogmas Weekend Down the Book Hole | 12/21-12/25

I thought it would be fun to do my long Christmas Weekend because I stayed in all weekend, reading, baking and blogging! I did this post last year and it was lots of fun for me to share with everyone a little bit more into my life!

Today I had to work, but I worked from home (well my friend/coworkers house because I am dog sitting all weekend). I worked on setting up my new blog platform and think I am really happy with how it is turning out. I am still doing more research on different plugins and themes, but I cannot wait to publish it in the new year! When I finished up with work I spent time with the dog and worked on finishing Secrets of the Dragon Sanctuary by Brandon Mull. I am 12 books away from my Goodreads goal and I hope to do a lot of reading this weekend . I received some packages today and yesterday, I thought this would be a good place to share them! I got my #otspsecretsister package which you can see more about in my post. I also tried out a Until Midnight Subscription Box which is a paranormal sub box.
Until Midnight Subscription Box Review
I am a fan of Paranormal Romance and I am always looking for recs so I thought this would be a fun box. It was only around $25 ish dollars so that wasn’t bad. There were some cute things in the box. I adore socks and fox are one of my fav animals so these fuzzy socks were a win! I also found the huge marshmallows to be so much fun! The chapstick and soap were a cute touch as well. The book looks interesting, but I am not really a fan or short stories unless they are novellas. I also was kind of upset that the book is such an old book and one I could probably pick up at the used bookstore for 1-2 dollars. Overall I thought all the items in the box were things I could have picked up myself. The thing I like most about sub boxes is those cute items that are from small business or curated just for the book. I am not sure if I will continue with this subscription box, but it was a fun Christmas present to myself.

Today was another day filled with reading, blogging and napping! I watched Birdbox which I greatly enjoyed and kind of wished I would have read the book first, but there is only so much time in life. I managed to do tons of reading and some late night baking as well! I listened to all of Hunger by Roxane Gay and there will be a review coming soon for it because I have so much to say.

I also received another present today  in the mail. Wonderdame was running a mystery bookmark sale, $5 for 10 magnetic bookmarks. How could I pass that up?

They ended up being perfect because so many of them I have people I know right away that I will be gifting some too! I love these cute little character bookmarks so much!

My weekend was so riveting. I spent the day finishing up some books (2), bringing me down to 10 books to read before 2019 and preparing for my 24-hr Christmas Eve Readathon. I took a very long nap that felt amazing and just enjoyed the nothingness. I also helped my parents work on opening their etsy shop, took the dog for a walk and went to visit my kitten babies!

Today I did a 24-Hour Christmas Eve Readathon. I had a ton of short books and books I started and need to finish. As it always is with me I had everything all planned out and my snacks all prepared. But I somehow seemed to get so distracted by social media, took a nap and visited the boy because it was his birthday.

I did manage to complete 2 more books taking my number down to 8 more books to read before 2019! I am hoping to participate in the #endofyearathon and read the rest of these books I did not get to. The books I was able to read were Night by Elie Wiesel and Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan. I also ate a ton of sweets and of course Christmas cookies!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! I hope everyone was able to spend time with loved ones and cozy up at home, reading, watching movies and relaxing. I slept in a little bit today and then woke up to make myself a huge breakfast and then FaceTime the family. I face-timed my parents and opened one of the gifts they gave me and they showed me the things they got each other. Growing up watching A Christmas Story during the 24hour marathon was always a thing for my brothers and I. We would watch it all day and my dad would get so annoyed so this is what my parents got me.

I also received a couple other awesome gifts from my friend and the boy! Although being away from family again for the holiday season I definitely felt the love and got spoiled by all of those around me.

I am finishing up the day by completing this post and watch Eloise at Christmastime and  Meet Me In St. Louis, which is one of my favorite movies, especially at Christmastime! I have tons of year end posts and goals I need to get to so look out for those for the rest of the month!

What did you do for the holidays? Get any awesome gifts from others or  for yourself?Wishing you and your families a Happy Holidays!
