-J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Synopsis:
For twelve long years, the dread fortress of Azkaban held an infamous prisoner named Sirius Black. Convicted of killing thirteen people with a single curse, he was said to be the heir apparent to the Dark Lord, Voldemort.
Now he has escaped, leaving only two clues as to where he might be headed: Harry Potter’s defeat of You-Know-Who was Black’s downfall as well. And the Azkaban guards heard Black muttering in his sleep, “He’s at Hogwarts… he’s at Hogwarts.”
Harry Potter isn’t safe, not even within the walls of his magical school, surrounded by his friends. Because on top of it all, there may be a traitor in their midst.[Goodreads]
While reading this I felt like it was the first time ever learning about Harry and his third year at Hogwarts. There was so much more detail in the book that made me greatly enjoy this book much more than the movie. All these details definitely gave the story a different feel and really helps to understand the overall story even more. It has been awhile since I have seen this movie, but I felt like there was so much about the story that I never heard before (I know, I know this is how book to movie adaptations work, but I felt like the Harry Potter movies are pretty good!) I felt like in this book there was more action throughout the whole book rather than just the last 100 pages. I have to say that I would love to be an animagi, it would be so awesome (well only if I turned into something cool!) I am a huge Sirus Black and Buckbeak fan! So far I think this is my favorite book, although I know that the next one will be for sure my all time favorite out of the series.

I think a lot of people felt this third movie didn’t follow the book nearly as well, if I remember correctly. I seriously cannot wait til you get to my favorite, Order of the Phoenix 🙂
There was a day while reading that I was reading it out loud to my little brother and he made the comment that he had never heard/knew that part so I think we are planning on watching the third one again because now I am so curious as to what exactly is left out!
