How To…..

Promote Your Blog-3
I have been going through and making lists of all the things I need to do in order to prepare myself and my blog for the new year! While I was in the process of this I figured I would make a post about the things I think are important to do before 2016 starts and some really cool things that will help with preparing and blogging throughout the year.
BLOG SCHEDULES
One of the things that I find is the hardest for me when it comes to blogging and reviewing is having a schedule. There are times that I receive books for review and they need to be read and reviewed by a certain time or there are posts that need to go up on certain days. I have found that the thing that best helps me with keeping track of time, books, posts and consistency is scheduling. The best tool for scheduling is by using a journal or planner! I have thought of using a new style this year and have discovered a few fun and interesting formats to do such!
♠ Bullet Journals
Bullet Journals seem to be a trending thing lately! I have seen them everywhere and it is an easy and cheap method to keeping a schedule, lists and events. The awesome thing about bullet journals is they are completely customizable and allows for it to be extremely personalized! To learn more about Bullet Journals and how to get started you can check out this amazing site here!
♠ Book Blogging Planner
While scrolling through social media I saw something posted and was quite intrigued. I have been trying to find a blogging calendar and an easier way to schedule out my blog when I saw something posted by Staybookish! It is a digital book planner that she has designed and includes everything you could want in order to keep track and schedule book blog related items! Not only is it ready from printing, but it is reasonably priced at only $8.99!
BOOKS OF THE PAST-2
In preparing for the new year I like to scoop out reading/book challenges I want to participate in as well as start to decide on goals and books I will read! I have been looking for a way to better keep track of the progress I make while reading throughout the year as well as some challenges I would like to participate in.
♠ 2016 Book Spreadsheet
As much as I love Goodreads, there are some limitations. While on the internet one day I discovered something amazing developed by All About Books ! She has created a spread sheet from tracking and keeping track of stats. On her post about it, she explains how to use it and gives you a way to have a copy of your own. It is absolutely amazing! I even added my own tabs of books that I need to buy (ones that are sequels) and a TBR tab!
♠ 2016 Challenges
I love participating in challenges! It is a great way to meet others in the book community and talk about certain topics or books. I also just love to challenge myself. So here are some challenges that I will be participating in.
♦ LGBTQIA Books Reading Challenge
2016 Ultimate Reading Challenge
2016 BOTM Challenge
2016 Series Challenge (this is linked to my page for last year)
♦ 2016 TBR Challenge  (This is something I am doing this year to challenge myself and will have a post up soon)
HOW I REVIEW BOOKS
One of the most important things about being a book lover and blogger is being kept up on all the new releases coming up. What kind of book blogger would I be if I did not know what was going on in the book world. There are also the book to screen adaptations that book lovers love to hate. I am a firm believer that the book will always be better!
♠ 2016 Book Releases
There are many places that you can go to find new books coming out, goodreads is usually a good source for that!
2016 YA Releases
2016 YA Debuts
2016 Sci-fi/ Fantasy
♠ 2016 Book to Screen
If you are anything like me, you have to read the books first. It is like a game for how quickly I can read the book so that I can see the movie or show when it comes out. I have been falling behind on this and the result is I avoid watching until I have read it (most times) So because of that it is important to know when they are coming out.
Movies
♦ The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey [Jan. 15, 2016]
♦ Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs [March 4, 2016]
♦ Allegiant (Part 1) by Veronica Roth [ March 18, 2016]
♦ The BFG by Roald Dahl [July 1, 2016]
♦ A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness [October 14, 2016]
♦ Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by J.K. Rowling [Nov 18, 2016]
TV Shows
♦ City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
♦ The Shannara Chronicles by Terry Brooks
♦ The Magicians by Lev Grossman
♦ The 100 by Kass Morgan (Season 3)

If you know of anymore let me know!

I hope this was some help. If you have any other ideas, advice or sites that help prepare for blogging let me know!

  2. You have no idea how helpful this is! I’ve been really unorganized lately and have been looking for some new ways to keep myself on track for the upcoming year! Creating spreadsheets to keep track of reviewing and upcoming releases is something I never thought about but I think it could really work for me! Awesome post!
