There are many popular trilogies that had their first books published in 2012. It is 7 years later and there are still many I have yet to read. One of my goals this year is to read more of my unread books that have been on my shelves forever. I though starting with some old popular trilogies would be the place to start.
Of course there were many popular trilogies that I have already read and loved, but out of the many that started in 2012, I have read none. When doing research for this post I realized there are so many popular series and trilogy starters that were published in 2012 such as:
- Falling Kingdoms Series by Morgan Rhodes
- Throne of Glass Series by Sarah J Maas
- Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyers
- The Selection Series by Kiera Cass
- The Raven Boys Series by Maggie Stiefvater
- Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo
- Pushing the Limits Series by Katie McGarry
I was going to try and tackle one trilogy a month, but I don’t want to put too much pressure on myself so I believe I will just tackle one at a time. I feel like so many of these unread trilogies, have such big followings or are mentioned a lot and I need to read them so I can be in the know!
With all of these trilogies, I own all of the books or the majority of them and its time to either read them or give them away. With series becoming more and more popular, I am missing the quickness of binge reading a trilogy.
I need your help picking which trilogy I should start with from my unread 2012 collection (two of these is actual published in 2011, but thats close enough for me)
The Shadow and Bone Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo
The Darkest Minds Trilogy by Alexandra Bracken (original trilogy)
Legend Trilogy by Marie Lu
Monument 14 Trilogy by Emmy Laybourne
Something Strange and Deadly Trilogy by Susan Dennard
His Fair Assassin Trilogy by Robin LaFevers
Under the Never Sky Trilogy by Veronica Rossi
Daughter of Smoke and Bone Trilogy by Laini Taylor
Sweet Trilogy by Wendy Higgins
Shades of London Trilogy by Maureen Johnson
What are your thought on these trilogies? Are there any you haven’t read? Which one should I read first?

What a fun idea! I’m doing something similar but I’m trying to finish all of the series I’m in the middle of and then be better about reading only one at a time. My vote goes to the Grisha Trilogy!
I would do the Sweet Trilogy. They are some of my favorite books of all time!!
I recommend you read the His Fair Assassin Trilogy or Daughter of Smoke and Bone Trilogy. I love them.
I have yet to read many of these series myself and I hope to get to the Grisha Trilogy soon!
I vote for daughter of smoke and bone 🙂 it’s a cool series and her writing is fantastic!
