Reflecting on 2018 Goals & Challenges

There were a lot of different goals and challenges that I set out to accomplish in 2018. Some I excelled at and others I came up short. I recently posted about my 2018 Reading Stats and thought it would be fun to also post about reflecting on 2018 goals. On those things I set out to achieve this past year and the outcomes of how well I did or didn’t do.

« 5 Series I Want to Read 2018

First off when I was working on the top part of this post I realized that there were some goals/challenges I made that I totally forgot about, so that is a great start! Below are a summary of those goals/challenges I set for myself and the results. If you would like to see more details check out the posts from above.

Read at least 75 books

I still have a like 10 hours left in 2018 so there is still time, but I have completed 68 books! So I ended up falling short, but I didnt want to push myself at the end and then fall into a book slump.

Read and Complete 10 Series

I picked 5 different series I wanted to get to in 2018 and out of those I only started one, I didn’t even complete it. In addition to that I only finished 6 series total in 2018.

Read at least 6 BIG books

(I am counting this as over 500 pages.)
This was another goal I fell short on this past year. I had picked 8 different books that I wanted to attempt to get to in reaching this 6 big books goal. Well shocker, I did not get to any of them and only read 2 big books total.

Read 50 books from my TBR (#beatthebacklist)

TBR: 33    #Beatthebacklist: 52

Read at least 5 Non-Fiction Books

I was so close on this one with read a total of 4 nonfiction books. I really want to read more next year and own so many so it has to happen.

Post 3 Reviews a Month

This is something that happened sometimes and definitely didn’t happen other months. I started the year off well and then switched to only doing reviews for new releases. I have created a post about my blogging goals for the next year and want to focus more on blogging. Check it out here !

Create or Join A Book Club

So I did in like the first month and then the book didnt arrive on time and I didnt get a chance to read it. After that it went down hill. I think if I am going to join a book club I want it to be in person. I love doing buddy reads with others in the book community but it is not the same as talking to people in a book club.

Create my Own Read-A-Thon

I want to create something that will become a yearly thing and go along with my blogiversary! And I did it! Even though the participate was very low. I am attempting to develop Fierce Female Reads in February with a bunch of other bookish people that I hope will have a better outcome!
