December 2015 | Wrap-Up

DECSo its the end of 2015. I can’t believe the year is already done and over. I loved participating in #readwomen for december and loved seeing all the posts and updates from others. I would like to thank all of my followers and friends I have made this year in the book community. I love that even though I was disconnected from the book community I still felt the love and was welcomed back with open arms. I have learned so much and have gotten a greater passion and love for books and reading! So here is to an amazing 2016!

Dusting Off the Shelf Read-a-thon | Wrap-Up

dusting-off-the-shelf-read-a-thon-graphic1

The two week long Dusting off the Shelf Read-a-thon has come to an end. This was the best I have done on a read-a-thon! I was able to complete 8 books (7 physical, 1 e-book). I also was able to pretty much complete all the challenges! I just can’t believe that in a two week period I was able to complete as many books as I was averaging for the past few months. This month is shaping up to be my best reading month and starting the 18th I will be participating in the Bout of Books Read-a-thon. Let me know how you did if you participated in this read-a-thon and if you will be participating in the Bout of Books! Now I have to go write a bunch of reviews.

Dusting Off the Shelf Read-a-thon | Three-Quarter Update

dusting-off-the-shelf-read-a-thon-graphic1

So far in August and for the beginning of the Dusting off the Shelf Read-a-thon I have continued to dominate! I have deviated from my set TBR and cheating a little by reading some books I got more recently than 6 months and doing some of my review reading. I still can’t believe that so far in 12 days I have finished 7 books! Although they aren’t the longest of books that is still close to my average books read for the past few months. So that is always a great accomplishment. I happened to face a little rut and almost slipped into a book slump, but did some re-reading and was so happy that I did. Now all I have to do is all my book reviews of the books I have been pounding out during this read-a-thon. Only a few more days left and I am not sure if I will be picking up another book because I have a review book to finish and the bout of books read-a-thon starts on the 18th, but we will see!

Day 9 [8/9]:

Book(s) I Read:

 Tithe by Holly Black

The Seventh Friend by Tim Stead

Dusting Off the Shelf Read-a-thon | Mid-Way Update

dusting-off-the-shelf-read-a-thon-graphic1

I can’t believe how much reading I have been getting done. As I thought, my reading slowed down a little the past few days. Reality set in and I had places to be and things to do. I would say that I feel like I am slowly starting to make a dent in my TBR pile, but that would be a lie because I have a book buying problem. Anyways I have completed 4 books so far for the Dusting off the Shelf Read-a-thon and I am almost done with the 5th! I definitely gave up on the challenges because I found that if I just pick up whatever I feel like reading I have been making more progress (and yes they are all still books I have had on my shelves forever!) Although I am cheating a little and including some books that I am reading for review and such. If you would like to see my last update you can go here! Also to see a more daily update you can follow me on twitter @downthebookhole or on goodreads! The only downfall to reading so much and spending all my time reading is that I have so many reviews to do now and I don’t want to take up my free time doing them over reading 😦 , but I am going to try to get some of those up very soon! Happy Reading and good luck if you are participating in this read-a-thon!

Day 5 [8/5]:
