2014 Debut Author Bash: Michelle Krys

unnamed-1

When I saw the sign-up for this blog tour and saw Michelle’s name I just had to sign up! I read Hexed earlier this year and completely loved it! If you want to check out my review you can go HERE! I was also very fortunate to be able to do an interview with Michelle around the time of Hexed release date! I loved being able to ask questions about the books and her inspiration. For the interview with Michelle Krys you can go HERE! Hexed is a wonderful snarky and fun witch book that is unique and a must read for all fans of paranormal with sassy and real female leads! I am so excited for the sequel Charmed, I can’t believe I have to wait a whole year. If you haven’t already check out Krys’s first book Hexed and check out below for Her top facts you need to know about Hexed!

michelle krys final 4x6Michelle Krys is the author of HEXED and the upcoming sequel CHARMED. She works part-time as a NICU nurse and spends her free time writing books for teens. Michelle is probably not a witch, though she did belong to a witchcraft club in the fifth grade and “levitated” people in her bedroom, so that may be up for debate. Visit her at michellekrys.com or follow @MichelleKrys on Twitter.

Hexed_cover_7_30_13If high school is all about social status, Indigo Blackwood has it made. Sure, her quirky mom owns an occult shop, and a nerd just won’t stop trying to be her friend, but Indie is a popular cheerleader with a football-star boyfriend and a social circle powerful enough to ruin everyone at school. Who wouldn’t want to be her?

Then a guy dies right before her eyes. And the dusty old family Bible her mom is freakishly possessive of is stolen. But it’s when a frustratingly sexy stranger named Bishop enters Indie’s world that she learns her destiny involves a lot more than pom-poms and parties. If she doesn’t get the Bible back, every witch on the planet will die. And that’s seriously bad news for Indie, because according to Bishop, she’s a witch too.

Suddenly forced into a centuries-old war between witches and sorcerers, Indie’s about to uncover the many dark truths about her life—and a future unlike any she ever imagined on top of the cheer pyramid.

TOP TEN THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT HEXED

♠  It’s about witches. But it’s also about friendship and the sometimes-tenuous bonds of friendship and growing up. While magic is an important part of the book, so is high school and all of the drama that goes along with that.

♠ Indigo isn’t perfect. She has flaws and lots of personal growth to do, and I freaking love that about her.

♠There are two warring factions in the book: Witches and warlocks, headed up by the Family, and sorcerers, headed up by the Priory. And none of them are entirely the “good guys”.

♠ It’s campy. There’s a lot of snarky humor and the magic is over-the-top, so if you’re expecting dark, broody characters slowly boiling herbs over a cauldron, you’ll probably be disappointed.

♠ People are going to die. (And they won’t magically come back to life after they die, either.)

♠ Bishop isn’t your usual love interest. While he is tall, dark and handsome, he’s also funny, irreverent, and he doesn’t care what people think of him.

♠ There’s kissing. And lots of it. So, you know, stay away if you’re not into that sort of thing, ya weirdo.

♠ There’s a cliffhanger at the end. I know, I know. The dreaded cliffhanger. BUT! Almost all of the story elements introduced in Hexed are wrapped up in the book—it’s only when you read the last couple of pages that you realize the little something that you might not have paid that much attention to is actually a bigger issue than you thought.

♠ It’s a duology. The sequel, CHARMED, comes out May 26th, 2015.

♠ You’ll like it! I think. (I hope.)

M.I.A TOO LONG [Updates and Shenanigans]

This past week was just full of distractions and adventures and no (to little) reading. I read a total of 230 pages in the week and didn’t even complete a whole book, but hey […]
