I decided that it would be fun to start a new feature to add the the wrap up of books I read every month. For me most of the time I pick up and look at books in the store it is the first lines that capture my attention and draw me in. It has always been intriguing to me the amount of thought that must go into those first words the author decides to but as the introduction to their work. The first lines are your first impression of the book.
The Last Star by Rick Yancey “This is my body.”
Bring Me Their Hearts by Sara Wolf “King Sref of Cavanos watches me with the deadened eyes of a raven circling a corpse-patient, waiting to devour me the second I let my guard down.”
Rome by Jay Crownover “It’s my favorite thing ever to have all the people I love in one place at the same time.”
Nash by Jay Crownover “ High School… Not the best years of my life. “
The Problem With Forever by Jennifer L Armentrout “Dusty, empty shoe boxes, stacked taller and wider than her slim body, wobbled as she pressed her back against them, tucking her bony knees into her chest.”
Rowdy by Jay Crownover
“I don’t have a lot of great memories from my childhood.”
Hi Mad Bookers! As you can see I have recently been updating and giving my blog a makeover (I have been trying to gear it more towards the Alice in Wonderland theme!) A lot has been happening this past month down the Book Hole! This post is kind of long (so grab some tea and cake and stick with me). It has a lot of information and will also include some events that will be coming up in the next month!
I read a total of 8 books and managed to actually follow my TBR List better than I have in the past!
I have been working on coming up with a TBR List for June and it is proving to be very difficult! There are so many books I want to read. I know I am horrible at following my list I create anyways, but I like to have it so that when I struggle to pick a book to read next I already have a laid out list of what I would like to read in the next month.(If that makes sense. I just reread that sentence and I am not sure if it sounds as good as it did in my head. Oh well)
I want to make progress in my TBR pile and get a lot of books read in the next couple of months. I also have some e-arcs to read and books to review that will be put on my TBR List. I also plan on participating in #SummerofSpells which is a Harry Potter read-a-long being hosted on twitter (mainly) by some booktubers and other book bloggers. But other than that I just have so many books I want to read I can’t narrow down my list.
It is just to hard so I guess the reason I am writing this post is to ask for help. If you follow my blog you should be familiar with a lot of the books I own (or if you don’t you could just go through my past TBR List because most of them haven’t been completed or my book hauls!) What books would you like to see me read and review? Are there any books you are planning on reading in the next month and would like to have a buddy to do a read-a-long with? A book you absolutely loved and want someone else to read it? Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated!
