♠  Leveled by Jay Crownover

This is the novella to Crownover’s new series Saints of Denver. I will be reading this with Samantha @ The Rambling Book Junkie.

Built by Jay Crownover

This is the first book in the Saints of Denver series and also the January pick for Rambling Down The Book Hole Book Club that I run alongside Samantha!

Crown of Embers by Rae Carson

I picked up The Girl of Fire and Thorns in November and was planning on binging the whole trilogy. I did not quite get around to that, but I want to continue with this trilogy and finish this series towards my series reads goals!

The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson

I have been wanting to read something by Sanderson so bad. What a better time to pick it up and read it. I am participating in a read-a-long for this book as well with some fabulous people on twitter!

Bloodlines by Richelle Mead

I have really been missing the Vampire Academy world and Mead’s writing. With her new series starting this year I want to get into more of her books!

The Narrow Road to the Deep North by Richard Flanagan

I have been really wanting to get into more adult books and specifically historical fiction. I also wanted to read more award winning books this year and this one jumped out at me.

What books are you planning on reading in January?

#ReadWomen December TBR

DECEMBER

As I stated in an earlier post, I have decided to participate in #readwomen December. If you don’t know what this is and want to learn more check out my post on it here! While looking through my TBR pile and the books I have been wanting to read I have realized that I have a lot of books by female authors and a lot that I want to read so it worked out perfectly! These are the ones I want to get to, but of course it is subject to change!

♠  A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

I will be reading this as the book of the month for Rambling Down the Book Hole Blogger Book Club!

Under Different Stars by Amy A. Bartol

I started this one in November. I am listening to it on audiobook and I am really enjoying it so far and hope to start the second one when I finish this!

The Crown of Embers by Rae Carson

I just read the first book in this series and absolutely loved it! I cant wait to continue on with the series!

Seven Ways We Lie by Riley Redgate

I received an ARC of this book from netgalley in exchange for my honest review and the concept is so intriguing!

All Played Out by Cora Carmack

I need to catch up on this series. The Rusk University series is engrossing and a guilty read with swoon worthy men!

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

How have I not read this yet??? It is quite embarrassing.

Sugar by Deirdre Riordan Hall

This is a book that I got sent to me by a publisher and it sounds interesting.

I really hope to get to more than just these books but these are the ones I am aiming for!

What books are you planning on reading in December? Are you participating in #readwomen?

Outrageous September TBR List

IMG_2162

So there are many books I want to get to this month. I have quite the unattainable TBR list. I wasn’t going to make a list this month, but figured why not share with everyone how crazy I am. There are even more physical books that I don’t have yet and many kindle books and audiobooks! I probably won’t get these all read and probably won’t stick to my list, but whatever. So here is my extremely long and outrageously large TBR!

The Wonderlandiful World by Shannon Hale

Shovel Ready by Adam Sternbergh

Doon (not pictured) & Destined For Doon by Carey Corp & Lorie Langdon

Lailah by Nikki Kelly

Dark Lover by J.R. Ward

Red Seas Under Red Skies by Scott Lynch (how many times has this appeared on my TBR lists haha)

Open Road Summer by Emery Lord

Horns by Joe Hill

Landline by Rainbow Rowell

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

What are you planning on reading this month? Have you read any of these?

August TBR

Lately I have been kicking butt on my TBR Lists! Since I am planning on participating in a few different read-a-thons this month I will have several different TBRs created. I have already posted my TBR for the Dusting off the Shelf read-a-thon happening Aug 1st – Aug 15th! The books that I am including on this list are ones I am reading for the FCLA Book Club and or buddy reads. Or just ones I want to get to and might end up including in other read-a-thon TBRs!

IMG_2079

We’ll Always Have Summer by Jenny Han – I recently finished the first two books in this series and would love to be able to complete the trilogy this summer! This might get put on my Bout of Books TBR!

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen – I am participating in a read-a-long for this book on goodreads and I also am using it for a challenge in the Dusting off the Shelf read-a-thon. It has been awhile since I read a classic and I have never read this one so that needs to change. I might end up working on it throughout the month though.

Hollow City by Ransom Riggs – I am continuing on with the duology and buddy reading it with Krystal @ Books Are My Thing!

The Giver by Lois Lowry- Don’t worry I have read this book already multiple times. So this will be a re-read for me due to the movie coming out soon. I don’t remember all that happened and its a short read.

♠ Red Seas Under Red Skies by Scott Lynch- How many TBRs has this made an appearance on? I started this in June and decided to put it on hold, but I really hope I will be able to get to it (like for real this time) This is the second book in the Gentleman Bastard series and I highly recommend the first book The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch! I also just got the third book and really want to get to it!

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling- I just recently finished the third book and want to continue on with the #SummerofSpells and just completing the series for the first time!

Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson- This is the August Book of the Month for the Future Cat Ladies of America Book Club with Autumn @Kitty Cat Reads

I also have a few e-books/e-arcs I need to read so we will see how it goes with those!

What are you planning on reading this month?

July TBR

I actually was able to stick to some of my TBR List from last month. I of course did not get to all the books, but I read 3/7 (plus started the 4th one) I say that is a vast improvement! I wasn’t going to make a list for July since I am now done with work, will be vacationing and moving at the end of the month. So I just wanted to be able to read whatever I felt like, but now as I start to pack up my books for the move I realize that I should pick out which ones I will be reading so I don’t pack those ones. Anyways enough with my rambling and onto the books!

IMG_1999

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater – This is a given since I will be doing a buddy read (book club) reading of this book with Autumn @ Kitty Cat Reads ! If you would like to join us or learn more about our goodreads group or what we are planning on doing go to my post Book of the Month!

Mrs. Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs-  I am also planning on doing a buddy read of this book with Krystal @ Books Are My Thing. I believe we are also planning on reading Hollow City by Ransom Riggs as well !

Red Seas Under Red Skies by Scott Lynch- I started this in June and decided to put it on hold, but I really hope I will be able to get to it this month! This is the second book in the Gentleman Bastard series and I highly recommend the first book The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch!

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K.Rowling – I just recently finished the second book and want to continue on with the #SummerofSpells and just completing the series for the first time!

♠ Summer Trilogy by Jenny Han – I recently bought the bind-up of the three books, The Summer I Turned Pretty, It’s Not Summer Without You, We’ll Always Have Summer. I am going to Vegas toward the end of the month and thought this would be a good book to take for the plane and laying out by the pool.

The Vault of Dreamers by Caragh O’Brien – I received this as an e-arc on netgalley and I have to read it this month. It sounds really interesting and I can’t wait to read it!

These are all that are pretty solid and most likely to be read! I have a few other review copies I need to get to and there are also some books I would really like to read soon, but we will see what happens this crazy busy month!

What are you planning on reading this month?

JUNE TBR

I didn’t read nearly as many books in May as I was hoping and only read one book from my May TBR List. With that being said I was very hesitant to create a list for June. I decided to finally do it so those who want to know will be able to see what I plan on reading and also I have some makeshift list of what I would like to read to help me prioritize. I am not going to make promises that I will follow this list because I have already proved I am not very good at that. If there are any books you would like me to read and review please let me know!

1. Guardian by Alex London                                                                                         (This is one of my most anticipated books of the year and I also already started reading it!)

2. Mortal Danger by Ann Aguirre                                                                                      (I received this as an e-arc from netgalley and it is about to expire so I need to read it really soon and I am really looking forward to reading it! [I also have a few other e-arcs that will be expiring soon, but sadly I don’t think I will be able to get to all of them] )

3. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling                                             (I finally own them! I also will be participating in the #SummerofSpells being hosted by some others in the book community on twitter, which is a Harry Potter read-a-long in June! So I will probably try and get to a few others in the series this month as well)

4. Red Seas Under Red Skies by Scott Lynch                                                                  ( I need this in my life. I have been waiting every since I finished the first book in the Gentleman Bastard series, The Lies of Locke Lamora, back in March for some time to be able to read this. I absolutely fell in love with the first book and I need to be back in that world and continue with the story! I also pre-ordered the third book and it is being released in July (that is the version that will match my other one. It is technically already out in the world)

5. Adaptation by Malinda Lo                                                                                        (This was recommended to me not to long ago and I really want to be able to get to it! )

6. Beautiful Darkness by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl                                          (This was also on my list for May and I never got to it. I own the whole series and really want to finish it and continue with the spin off series that just had its first book released, Dangerous Creatures! )

7. One Realm Beyond by Donita K. Paul                                                                          (I received this book to review for Booklook Bloggers and I got it awhile ago and should really get to it this month. It sound really interesting and I can’t wait to read it.)

That is quite a large list and I am sure it will change and there is a possibility I will read more books than that. I also really want to read a classic this month as well as maybe a non-fiction book. There are so many fantasy books I want to read, but they are some chunky books, so we will see. I also hope to make some progress in Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy. I am about halfway through it and I have been reading it forever. I feel like I need to write down an outline of what I have read so far so I know what is going on. For now that is it though! Happy June reading!

What are you planning on reading this month?

MAY TBR

Since I am finally done with school and graduated!!!! I am going to have a lot more free time for reading. As made evident by my April TBR I have a lot of trouble making decisions and staying with those I pick. With that being said this is only a rough lay out of what I would like to read. This is just my general May TBR and I will be making a separate TBR for the read-a-thon, Bout of Books 10 that I am participating in starting May 12th!

Currently Reading: White Hot Kiss by Jennifer L. Armentrout

1. Obsessed by Jo Gibson

( This is a e-Arc that I received from netgalley for an honest review. Its publication date is set for May 27th 2014. )

2. Curses and Smoke: A Novel of Pompeii by Vicky Alvear Shecter

(This is a e-Arc that I received from netgalley for an honest review. Its publication date is set for May 27th 2014)

3. The Girl From The Well by Rin Chupeco

(I started reading this at the end of March. I am over 70% done with this and really want to complete it. It has been one of those reads that I have kept picking up and putting down and I just need to finish it.This is a e-Arc that I received from netgalley for an honest review. Its publication date is set for August 5th 2014. )

4. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte

(I own so many classic that I have never read. I have decided that I will start to read one a month. )

5. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K Rowling

(I know it is absolutely horrible that I have yet to read this series. I decided what better time than this summer to start. I think I will pace it out and try to read at least one a month. So now I guess I need to go out and buy the box-set!)

6. Graceling by Kristin Cashore

(I am need of some fantasy in my life! I have been nervous to start any with how much I have had going on, but now that my life has become a little less chaotic I figure now is the perfect time!)

7.Beautiful Darkness by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl

(This is a series I have started awhile ago and need to work on reading the rest. I am excited for the new spin- off series that is coming out called Dangerous Creatures!)

I think I will stop my list there and see how it ends up. I tried to pick books from categories that I have kind of prioritized in my head. I want to start reading more classics and books that I should have already read, but I want to take it slow. I also need a variety and these books are for sure a broad variety of genres. Let me know if you have read any of these or have any opinions/thoughts! What are you planning on reading in May?

April TBR

So I decided to make a TBR List for the month of April. These are going to be the list of books I am hoping to get through in this month. It is going to be a really rough month for reading because this is the last month of the semester and I graduate in the beginning of May. In the month of March I read 7 books and I aiming for that many this month too. I am very indecisive so this list will probably change and besides the first two the order I read them is subject to change.

1. Spirit Bound by Richelle Mead                                                                                         (I am currently reading this and I am about a third of the way through it.)

2. Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead                                                                                   (This is the last book in the Vampire Academy Series and so will tie up my marathon read of the series!)

3.Touched by Cyn Balog                                                                                                         (I have had this book on my shelf forever. After marathoning a series I think I am going to have to take a break and read some shorter books. This is a stand alone book and I read another book by Cyn Balog earlier this year and even though I didn’t think it was amazing it was a good and different read so I am interested to dive into this one. I have found that Cyn Balog’s books always have interesting story lines and are unique compared to other books I have read.)

4. Prince of Thorns by Mark Lawrence                                                                               ( I am in need of another fantasy book. There has been something missing from my life after I finished The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch. I own the next book in the Gentleman Bastard series, but I don’t have the time to commit to it.  So that is my reasoning for wanting to read this book this month and it also sounds really interesting and has a beautiful cover.)

5. Born at Midnight by C.C. Hunter                                                                                    ( This book is sitting on my counter and I keep looking at it and have been wanting to pick it up and give it a go. There is no time like the present! It seems like an interesting read and is about a camp full of supernatural beings. Whats more exciting than that?)

6. The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan                                                            (I finally just bought the rest of this trilogy and can’t wait to begin reading this interesting take on a zombie story! This name and cover are so intriguing!)

7. The Dead-Tossed Waves by Carrie Ryan                                                                 (Since  I do own the whole trilogy (The Forest of Hands and Teeth) I will probably end up binge reading it so that is why this is on the list. I am so excited to get into this world!)
