First Read of 2023

First Read of 2023

I am a firm believe that the first book you read of the year set the tone for the rest of your reading year! I first made a post about this in 2018, First Read of 2018 | Discussion Post. When looking over it I still agree with many of the points I made for what qualities a book pick must have for the first read of the year, but also my reading tastes have tended to change a lot since 2018. So there will be a slight different approach for my First Read of 2023!

I usually try to make sure I finish all books I am currently reading before the start of the new year. I am currently 30% into a book that I hopefully will have done before the beginning of the year. But I am also a few away from 100 so we will see what I can fit in this last day!

Read Selection

I have been going through some really big mood reading vibes lately and not sure if I can actually stick to pre-selecting a first read of 2023 (especially since I am doing this 3 days in advance). But I recently heard a ton about this book, have been reading tons of smutty books and just think this will be a perfect one to start the new year with!

It will be a new to me author and the start of a series. My thoughts behind starting off a new series is it will give me the push and motivation to keep reading the other books. Since it has been one I’ve heard only good things about and one I am so excited to read, hopefully it will be a 5 star read and start the new year off with a BANG!

Do you have a process for picking your first read of a new year? Do you have a book picked as your first read of 2023?

Summer E-book Haul

I have owned a kindle for quite some time now, but rarely ever use it. It has tons of pros, such as light and easy to travel with. It also happens the ebooks are a ton cheaper than physical books. I just lean towards physical books because I am more inclined to pick it up and read it.  […]

End Of Year Reading | TBR

I have quite a few books I would like to get to before the end of the year. I did make a post about the top 5 I want to read before 2019 , but I am hoping to read more than 5 and I did already finish one of these books! I technically need to read 15+ books […]

ARC August | TBR

I have seen this around in the book community the past couple of years, but I have never had enough ARCs to make a month of it. I do not plan on participating in any challenges or anything thing of the like beside participate in reading all the ARCs I have in August! Hosted by Read. Sleep.Repeat. Here […]
