Top Ten Books On Our Fall 2021 TBR

It has been a hot minute since I have done a Top Ten Tuesday post. I haven’t been blogging much because I have been struggling with creating content. And to be honest I have really been focusing on reading more. So to try and get my creative juices moving around, I thought it was the perfect time to jump back on the TTT train! This one was pretty easy in some aspects, but hard to narrow down to just 10 books. I have so many books I want to read and just never enough time.

I am also happy to feature my best friend on this post, as she will be starting to appear more on the blog, helping me with content and posts! So here is our list of Top Ten Books On Out Fall 2021 TBR!

Top Ten Books On Our Fall 2021 TBR

Ashley’s TBR

Fortuna Sworn by K.J Sutton

I have had my eyes on this book for so long and finally own a copy. It seems like a book that fits well with the fall time frame so I am really hoping I am able to pick this up!

Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo

I can’t believe I put off reading this series for so long. I bought them back in college when they were coming out and I was suppose to see the author in person, but never got around to it. So in an effort to read the completed series I own on my shelf and wanting to be able to watch the tv show, I need to get to this book!

Wild Magic by Tamora Pierce

This one will be a reread for me, but I want to finish this series and have slightly forgot what happened. I am also going to reread the first two in the series and then read the others for the first time with my bestie, Autumn!

Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia

This book seemed to be a hit last year and seems perfect for those creepy fall vibes. I have been on a thriller/horror kick lately since it seems to be fitting for the season and are entertaining and easy to comprehend. It is also on my 21 books in 2021 list and has been sitting on my TBR for awhile!

Curse of Darkness by CR Robertson

I read the first book in this series earlier this year and it has been my top read so far this year. I have been putting off reading the next book for fear of ruining the first book in my head, but it is time I suck it up. It has succubus, incubus, elves, vampires and lycan working to fight the evil queen, who cursed the sons of each fraction. The world was amazing and so creative and paranormal/fantasy books are such good choices for the fall!

Autumn’s TBR

The True Bastards and The Free Bastards by Jonathan French

I’m counting these two as one because The Free Bastards is coming out at the end of the month and it’s time to get over my fear that I won’t love these books as much as I loved the first one in the series. So, instead of re-reading The Grey Bastards for the fourth time, I am going to finish the series this fall – and it’s probably going to break me.

The Dragon Reborn by Robert Jordan

My goal is to read at least the first three books in the Wheel of Time series before the show airs in November, and I’m right on track! After more than one failed attempt at getting in to this series in the past I switched to the audiobooks and I am loving it so far (that being said, make a note to check back in with me on that once I get to The Slog).

I’m really excited to see how this world will be adapted for the small screen, and maybe even more excited to see how mega fans of the series will react because I live for critical analysis of media by people who are passionate about the source material (we love people who love things loudly over here).

Teen Titans: Beast Boy Loves Raven by Kami Garcia & Gabriel Picolo

This is the third installment in a series of graphic novels by this creative team that I’ve followed from the beginning (despite being almost exclusively a Marvel girl) after falling in love with Gabriel Picolo’s art on Instagram (@_picolo). The story is so cute and I can’t wait to have it in my hands next week!

A History of Heavy Metal by Andrew O’Neill

I don’t often read non-fiction, but when I do I almost always reach for books that touch on my favorite music genres (or sharks, I’m a simple woman). This will probably be the 5th or 6th book about heavy metal that I’ve read, and while I already know it’s not particularly comprehensive, it is supposed to be funny – and that’s not as common as you’d think among individuals who are the type of music snob (this is absolutely a term of endearment) that can write a book about it.

Throwing this one on my TBR specifically to give myself a break between all of the fantasy I want to read, sometimes you just need to read a book about a bunch of guys you are 100% sure you can pronounce the names of.

Joyless by Nyla K.

I am very particular when it comes to what I want out of a dark romance and the first book in Nyla K.’s Alabaster Penitentiary series was an unexpected favorite when I read it a few months ago, then I got officially hooked on the series when I saw which characters were going to be the focus of the second book. So hooked, in fact, that I plan on picking this one up immediately on release day – which is very unusual for me (despite what this list of mostly yet-to-be-released books suggests).
