Top 5 Wednesday was created by Lainey from gingerreadslainey (YouTube, Goodreads) and if you would like to join, here is the link for the Goodreads group with all the information. This was a difficult one for me to complete and I didn’t find 5 books. I haven’t read a lot of books lately that have had synopsis that misguided me. I had to look through my read book list and look at synopses. But here they are, the Top 5 Most Misleading Synopses.
Top 5 Most Misleading Synopses
Significance by Shelly Crane
When I read this synopsis it sounded so intriguing to me. I had to force myself through reading this and gave up on the last 20 pages. Being paranormal romance I had preconceived notions, but it definitely fell into the Twilight category.
Of Monsters and Madness by Jessica Verday
This is another synopsis that had me so intrigued and wanting more. It failed big time. It stated that it was a retelling of gothic horror featuring Annabelle Lee from Edgar Allen Poe which is one of my favorites. The only way it was really incorporated was with the name.
♦ The Girl From The Well by Rin Chupeco
This synopsis lead me to believe it would go in a totally different direction than it actually did. I thought it would be creepy horror story, but did not read as such to me.
Dead River by Cyn Balog
This is another book I thought would be a horror story. The synopsis was short but it lead me to believe there would be killers or ghosts. It went a totally different way then I thought it would.
What are some books that have had the most misleading synopses?
