This weeks Top Ten Tuesday topic hosted by Broke and Bookish is Mother’s Day Freebie. I decided that I would go with the top moms in literature. I do not have many that I could think of. It seems that so much of YA literature doesn’t include parents, which is weird when you think about it. All of these teens are just off by themselves getting into all sorts of trouble with no parental supervision.
♦ Mrs. Weasley from the Harry Potter Series by J.K Rowling – I feel like this is a given and needs nothing further.
♦ Ma Ingalls from Little House Series by Laura Ingalls Wilder – She was just the all around mom. She was always there for them and teaching them.
♦ Ms. Honey from Matilda by Roald Dahl– She always wanted the best for Matilda and was so sweet.
♦ Natalie Prior from Divergent by Veronica Roth– She risked her life for her daughter and supported her with her decisions.
♦ Lilly Potter from the Harry Potter Series by J.K Rowling – She gave up her life for her son. Although she isn’t present in the books, she is always there with Harry and helps him make it.
What are some of you top moms in literature?

I can’t believe that I forgot to think of Miss Honey! She’s a wonderful mother figure <3 Great list!
Ma Ingalls! I love it!
My TTT.
Natalie made a lot of lists this week! I never read the books, though I did watch the first movie, and from that alone I definitely agree with her inclusion. She was willing to sacrifice so much for her daughter.

I’m so glad you included Miss Honey! I would have completely forgotten her but she’s a truly wonderful mother figure! 😀
Here’s my Top Ten Tuesday post
Great list! I hadn’t thought of Miss Honey. Here is my TTT.
I totally agree about the lack of parenting in YA novels – it’s nice to see you found so many good examples of moms in YA!
Great list!

I just remembered Miss honey because I saw on someones list matildas mom as a worst.
I love Molly Weasley. She is definitely the kind of mum I aspire to be when that time comes. She has such a fierce love for all the kids and I love how compassionate she is. I love that she treats Harry as a son. She’s a beautiful person.
