” Loneliness is a strange sort of thing It creeps up on you, quiet and still, sits by your side in the dark, strokes your hair as you sleep. It wraps itself around your bones, squeezing so tight you almost can’t breathe. It leaves lies in your heart, lies next to you at night, leaches the light out from every corner. It’s a constant companion, clasping your hand only to yank you down when you’re struggling to stand up.”

Mafi works magic with her writing. The story and plot could use some work. Seeing as the 400+ pages mainly consisted of them in an underground compound, but it is beautifully written. I’m obsessed with the way she uses words and phrases sentences. I love how she continued the trend of striking out some of Juliette’s word. It allows you to see her thought process play out. This book has made me became a huge Warner fan. I am team Warner all the way! It is my belief that you want someone who will challenge you and make you a better person. That is what Warner does for Juliette.
I have a feeling that I am gonna be let down in the third book and that something will happen to Warner. If she ends up with Adam I will be so upset. My favorite chapter was 62. It was absolutely amazing and shocking and had everything that makes a great moment and twist in a romance. I re-read this like three times. I would suggest to pay attention to this if you ever read the book!
“And even when you’re ready to let go. When you’re ready to break free. When you’re ready to be brand-new. Loneliness is an old friend standing beside you in the mirror, looking you in the eye, challenging you to live your life without it. You can’t find the words to fight yourself, to fight the words screaming that you’re not enough never enough never ever enough. Loneliness is a bitter, wretched companion. “
