Synopsis:
‘R’ is a zombie. He has no name, no memories and no pulse, but he has dreams. He is a little different from his fellow Dead.Amongst the ruins of an abandoned city, R meets a girl. Her name is Julie and she is the opposite of everything he knows – warm and bright and very much alive,she is a blast of colour in a dreary grey landscape. For reasons he can’t understand, R chooses to save Julie instead of eating her, and a tense yet strangely tender relationship begins.This has never happened before.It breaks the rules and defies logic,but R is no longer content with life in the grave. I actually saw this movie (against my will) before I read the book. With that being said I was very hesitant to pick up this book, but I am so incredibly happy that I did! With the end of the world quickly approaching, what does it take to change the corse of the future?

The writing is absolutely beautiful and totally captivated me from the very beginning. The book was written in such a way that I kept forgetting that this was a Zombie Love Story of sorts.( Which was a good thing because that whole topic kind of creeps me out because when I think of zombies I think of dead, rotting corpses that eat humans) It carries with it such deeper meanings of hope and the possible cure to the horrendous trials that we are put through in life. So many questions of life are present and make you really think, What makes us human? It was so crazy that in such a fun, lighthearted  topic of a zombie falling in love, that there were so many parts that made me think. I truly fall in love with the characters and felt for them and the situations they were facing.

As to be expected Marion sets up some very gruesome scenes that are important to any good Zombie story, filled with blood, gore and brains! But this is not like The Walking Dead, think more along the line of a zombie version of Edward Scissorhands!
