I thought it would be fun to do my long Christmas Weekend because I am planning on staying in all weekend, reading and blogging!
So today I worked from home, which was great and allowed me to get quite a bit of reading done today! I started prepping for my weekend holed up in my apartment working on my blog and reading. I have been working on my end of the year wrap ups and 2018 goals. Today I also decided that I want to do a Christmas Eve Read-A-Thon! As I was doing so stuff for work I started watching The Vampire Diaries, I have never read the books or watched the show before, but thought it was a good time to start. I drank way too much coffee as well today, but I was able to read close to 200 pages of The Book Thief by Markus Zusak! I have 70 pages left and plan on finishing it tomorrow!
I started this morning with a large cup of coffee and some blogging. While I have some time I want to get some post drafted and scheduled! I spent the majority of the day watching The Vampire Diaries and working on posts!
I spent the evening prepping for the 24hour read-a-thon I am going to do for Christmas Eve! I was able to clean some of my apartment while listening to some of Simon Vs.
I was also able to curl up on the couch with the kittens and finish The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. Of course I had tears streaming down my face after I finished that beautifully written piece of art!
How we felt after we finished reading this book.
Christmas Eve Read-A-Thon preparations all set and ready for a day full of reading!
I made it like 2 hours past midnight before I passed out. The kittens woke me up sitting on my chest staring at my face. I was listening to some more of Simon Vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli as I was making coffee and a huge yummy breakfast! I need to check some social media things and prepare the living room for some more hours spent reading Seven Days of Us by Francesca Hornak.
I have hit the mid day sleepies. I need to take a break from reading and reenergize with some caffeine and food! I have been able to read almost 300 pages and its 2:00PM. I have finished a collection of cat poems and a fantasy short story. I am almost done with Simon Vs. and 100 pages into Seven Days of Us!
So I accidentally took a nap in the early evening. After waking up I made some dinner and rehydrated myself. Since then I have been reading away like crazy with the occasional social media and kitten breaks.
The book I am currently reading is Seven Days of Us by Francesca Hornak. So far it is okay, there is drama that is of course helping me to keep moving forward. I love that it has a Christmas setting, but I am reminded just how much I dislike contemporary fiction. It just gets boring for me and is hard to read. Which is so funny because I love drama tv shows. I am just getting extremely annoyed with the characters and they are acting so dumb. I think sitting down and trying to read it all in one day was the best choice for this book because I feel like otherwise I might have given up on it because it would have just dragged. The chapters are quite short and I appreciate the multiple narrative it is definitely helping. I am currently 225 pages into this 355 page book with an hour left in the 24 hour Christmas Eve Read-A-Thon!
Started today by having my older brother FaceTime me at 1am his time as he was setting things up for my nieces and watching The Christmas Story! After we got off the phone I did a little more reading on the couch with the kittens!
I slept in a little bit today and then woke up to make myself a huge breakfast and then FaceTime the family! My big plans for the day are to watch Christmas movies and finish off all my snacks so I can get back on my healthy eating! I have watched The Grinch and I am now starting Meet Me In St. Louis, which is one of my favorite movies, especially at Christmastime!
I didn’t get around to much reading today, but I did watch a ton of Christmas movies, cuddled with the kittens and lounged enjoying my last day off for the weekend. I also spent quite a bit of time working on my blog and the Alice in Wonderland themed read-a-thon I will be hosting on my blog in Feb. for my 5 year blogiversary. I am really excited about the read-a-thon and hope that everyone joins in with me! Well I had a great weekend and it was a much needed break from life for awhile. I read a lot and got really excited about the new year. Although I had some good things happen in 2017 there was also a lot of shitty things. I need to rediscover myself again and make a fresh start. I have lots of goals for 2018 both bookish and personal. I think it is going to be a great, fun and busy year! Happy Holidays!

So I’m not the only one who did the Christmas Eve Read-A-Thon 😛 . I did it, but I didn’t keep track, just read a bunch of ARC ebooks I had received and reviewed all day. I also love the peppermint marshmallow snowflake!
