I had exceptionally big plans for this past week and weekend. I did get a accomplished, but definitely not what I set out to do. That should be of no surprise and is becoming quite the pattern as of late.
With the holiday I had a long weekend and have another one to look forward to next weekend! I was able to FaceTime my family on Christmas and was able to open present with them, which was nice. I received new cookware from my parents which I am so excited about! I have had the same cookware since college and it was long overdue to be replaced. I got a new lamp for my beside table that will be perfect for reading! As well as some fun new storage containers my mom made me that remind me I need to clean and organize my house :/
I snuggled with the cats, watch a ton of holiday movies as well as finished quite a few books. This weekend I officially read the most books I have in one year and still have a few days to squeeze some more in! I listened to both Upright Women Wanted by Sarah Gailey and Behind Closed Doors by Anna Stone. I was also about to finish Cindi’s Christmas Prince by Aria Starling, which was quite shocking and I am excited to read the other book in the series, Starborn Fairy Tales, Beauty’s Alien Beast which I received an early copy of for review! I shall have a review of both of them coming soon, but if you enjoy retellings and aliens, you must check these out!
I am hoping to finish my current read The Grey Bastards by Jonathan French if not today, in the next day! It has quickly become one of my favorite books, if not one of my favorite reads of 2020, definitely a hidden gem! After that one is finished I have a few January 2021 ARCs I need to get to, Crown of Bones by A.K. Wilder and Rise of the Red Hand by Olivia Chadha.
I have also been working on updating my book tracker with the books I own and haven’t read to prepare for the start of 2021! Making sure all of my planners and blog posts ideas are ready for January 2021!
While working on blog posts and prepping for the start of the new year, I also happened to watch the Bridgerton series on Netflix! I never had the intention of reading the books it is based off of, Brigertons series by Julia Quinn but my mind might be changed. I am quite enjoying this tv show and loving the historical gossip girl vibes! I also adore Julie Andrews as the narrator of the show! I believe the casting (although I can not compare to the books and I am not sure how accurate it holds to the story) was fantastic! The music was also quite the nice touch, especially instrumental version of Thank U, Next!
How was your holiday weekend spent? Do you have any fun plans the last week of the year? Any books you are wanting to get in before the end of the year?
