2023 Bookish Goal Planning

2023 Bookish Goal Planning

Here goes year 9 doing this, 2023 Bookish Goal Planning! I did okay with my goals in 2022, but could have done better. Once of the things I think worked well was my more relaxed approach. I said this last year, but want to continue to be more intentional with my goals this year. Creating more achievable goals and ones that will help with my bookish/blogging growth as well. Again I am setting myself both blogging and reading goals this year all in one list instead of dividing them into separate ones. I want to spend more time this year enjoying blogging and reading and making it not fill like such a chore.  (* Be prepared for basically all repeats of my goals last year *)

2023 Bookish Goal Planning

Read at least 75 books

In 2022, I was able to read a total of 97 books, which was more than my goal, but not as many as I was really hoping to read (especially since I have like 800 books on my physical and digital TBR) Although I have had years reading over 100 books I want to make sure I am not pressuring myself and really reading/prioritizing those books I want to read. I do want to tackle those books on my shelves and read books I have been avoiding. To get to the point where I am okay with picking up a huge fantasy book and not feel bad or like I have to read so many more. Check out the 23 books I want to read in 2023.

Complete/Make Progress on 5 Series

In 2022 I felt like without really knowing it I spent a lot of time focused on series. Some of that focused helped me push through and keep reading even when I was struggling mentally. I don’t want to close this one off to just finishing but also just putting more focus on series as a whole. I know there is one I have been reading and loving that currently has like 18 books and I have read 6. I really do not believe I will finish it in 2023 but I at least want to make progress.

Work On My Blog Content

This is a repeat from last year. I did spend more time updating old blog post and deleting some that are no longer relevant this past year. Surprisingly this year for posting so little compared to previous years, my views is the most I have had. That must mean this clean up and SEO work has been helping! So I would like to continue and hopefully get about 75% updated.

Read at least 5 BIG Books

{I am counting a Big Book as being over 500 pages}

Another goal I continue to add to my bookish goals every year, and another one I always fall short on. I need to stop being scared of the bigger books and just read them regardless how long they take me. I don’t know why I am doing this again, but I really want to put focus on fantasy/scifi books! I own so many and get so jealous when people talk about them and I don’t make enough time. Part of it is hard because I don’t do well listening to fantasy books on audio which is how I read the majority of my books.

Make Time For Bookish Things

I want to be more intentional in setting aside time for reading along with my bookstagram. I want to be able to blog more and not just lame content, but like fun stuff. I want to make more of a plan for my reading and try watching less tv. So many times I just sit on my couch watching the same show I’ve watched a million times (looking at you Grey’s Anatomy and Gilmore Girls) Actually getting around to reading ARCs, the books on my shelves and discovering new books and authors!

Have you done any 2023 Bookish Goal Planning? What are some of your 2023 bookish goals/resolutions?
