A bullet to the head ended Arianna’s murderous killing spree, but the afterlife isn’t what she envisioned. Lucifer claims her dark soul and grants her luxuries she never had in life: acceptance, unbridled lust, and encouragement to act on her brutal instincts.

However, her undeniable draw to Jeremiel, the archangel of Hope, can’t be fought and a glimmer of pure light hidden deep within her begins to shine and she craves the honest and devoted love that beckons.

An angel of Heaven covets her purity, and the King of Hell owns her sinister soul. Neither is willing to surrender their claim.

Can Arianna embrace the eternal bond offered by her angel and shed her evil past, or will she live forever in Hell ruled by her darkest deeds?

Darkest Deeds by Lori Aisling Book Review

*I would like to thank the author, Lori Aisling, for a copy of this book in return for an honest review*

“I don’t think Death truly understood the power the Devil possessed.”

The great divide between heaven and hell turns out to be a woman by the name of Arianna.

This book is not for everyone and not for those who do not enjoy a extremely dark romance. We are immediately thrust inside the thoughts and inner workings of Arianna and it is not a place for the faint of heart. This is a unique dark paranormal romance with death, archangels and Lucifer, the king of hell!

“He was everything- hypnotic, beautiful, terrifying, and evil. Like anthrax sprinkled on the perfect limoncello.”

Darkest Deeds, was definitely a dark read and will not be one for everyone. I found it to be such an interesting read with a lot of great elements. The pull between heaven and hell was a fun addition and added some suspense and mystery throughout the whole read.

Arianna was an intriguing character and had a lot going on inside her head. Having her perspective and getting her internal dialog was unique.  Seeing the pull within herself between good and evil, right and wrong made her a morally gray and overall unique character. Being in Arianna’s thoughts creates a veil of confusion and mystery as you slowly learn about her backstory and future along with her.

Lucifer and Alister was such great characters and really added a lot to the story. Both sexy and devilish as they should be! I thought the full acceptance Luc provided Ari with who she is and her morally gray urges was nice to see. Ari had so much inner turmoil and Luc supported her in it all. There were also some other great side characters and I loved learning about the afterlife world.

” There cannot be Light without seeing the Dark.”

There is so much build up the whole story and some elements that were included that were a little confusing, I felt like some characters were not given the time or justice they deserved. I wanted more on the reveal and explanation to all the question you get throughout the story. I did find the pacing to be off and felt like the story quickly ended. I did like the ending and the way Aisling left it, but it just happened too fast compared to the rest of the story.

Overall, Aisling wrote a slightly disturbing, but interesting and steamy story!I haven’t read many angel/devil paranormal romance and enjoyed it. I have to say this book completely surprised me, it  was so different than anything I’ve read before, a little strange, slightly dark and some unique fun characters! If you don’t mind some slight graphic serial killer violence from the perspective of the killer and enjoy dark romances you need to check this out standalone HEA!
