Favorite Quotes from Books I’ve Read So Far in 2019

One of my favorite things about books are the quotes you find hidden between the pages that capture the essence of the story and the heart of the author. They are words crafted by someone laying it all out on the line, sharing the inner workings of their mind and its like a small window into their life because those words are their own.

“It was power you sought. And as a woman , yours is already ummeasurable.”

Stain by A.G Howard

” The scariest monsters are the ones who seem the most like you.”

Internment by Samira Ahmed

” We are all nothing more than beautiful young monsters.”

The Raven’s Tale by Cat Winters

” I struggle to empathize with people who aren’t fictional.”

Wild and Crooked by Leah Thomas

” This is what it means to be a feminist. Not a humanist or an equalist or whatever. But a feminist. It’s not a bad word. After today it might be my favorite word. Because really all it is, is wanting to be treated like human beings in a world thats finding ways to tell them they’re not.”

Moxie, Jennifer Mathieu

” We are all anthologies. We are each thousands of pages long, filled with fairy tales and poetry, mysteries and tragedy, forgotten stories in the back no one will ever read.”

Neverworld Wake, Marisha Pessl

” Small towns have highways leading out and no perimeter walls keeping people in, but they’re still damn hard to escape.”

8 Souls, Rachel Rust

” Sometimes when a heart breaks, it starts to let in the light.”

Raze, Tillie Cole

” There is something about having someone take care of you, even when you dont need it- maybe especially when you don’t need it. “

Blood Bound, Patricia Briggs

“No matter how tough you think you are, there are certain things that just get to you, and they’re usually the little things. The ones you don’t expect.”

Dorothy Must Die, Danielle Paige

  1. Ah, the last one from Dorothy must die is probably my favorite that you shared!!

    I fell in love with a few quotes from “My heart and other black holes” lately. My fave would probably be this one;
“And this time, I can feel my hand. I can feel everything. And I want to keep feeling everything. Even the painful, awful, terrible things. Because feeling things is what lets us know that we’re alive.
And I want to be alive.”

    1. Oh I like that one! And I found Dorothy Must Die has quite a few quotes I really like! Thanks for sharing 🙂
