I ‘ve been doing this book tag over the last few years and figured might as well keep the tradition alive and complete the Holiday Drinks for Blogmas 2020! I selected books that I read in 2020 and for some prompts listed more than one. I read so many books this year and I am really trying to showcase the ones I loved!
I saw this post over on Emma’s Chapter and it was originally posted on Browsing for Books by Cerys and thought it would make a great addition to my blogmas post. Check out my post from last year here!
Hot Chocolate – Recommend a Book That’s Sweet Through and Through
Although it had some humor and some not sweet elements. I believe that overall for me The Duchess Deal by Tessa Dare was a cute and sweet book! It was hard to find a sweet book because I tend to run the other direction from those, but this was the closest one I could find to fit!
Peppermint Mocha – Recommend a Book With a Lot of Strong Emotions
There were quite a few heart wrenching books I read this year. Many were ones by BIPOC authors touching on hard hitting topics that reflected all those major elements so prevalent in our world/society still today. The one that has really stuck with me and gives me all the feels months after reading it was The Invincible Summer of Juniper Jones by Daven McQueen. If you have not picked up this book you should. You can check out my review here.
Apple Cider – Recommend a Book Full of Characters with Questionable Morals
This one was not a hard one to think of at all. I took a chance and accepted to review a book from a romance author review page I am a member of on Facebook. It sounded intriguing and wow was it dark and completely unexpected. This book is not for the light of heart and has a note at the beginning from the author explaining. But if you are intrigued by the dark and paranormal with characters with questionable morals you should check out Darkest Deeds by Lori Aisling! You can also check out my review here!
Eggnog – Recommend a Book That’s Mostly Fun, With Just a Hint of Danger
I wanted to list a couple of books here because I was really having a hard time picking just one. All of these books were fun reads for me with some great characters and elements. Each was sprinkled with some danger, that in my opinion made the story even better and really let the characters shine!
Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas
The School for Good and Evil by Soman Chainani
The Daring of Della Dupree by Natasha Lowe
Gingerbread Latte – Recommend a Book With a Lot of Action
This is another one which I could not chose just one. There were so many books I read this year that had lots of actions. Here are just a few of the many great ones! (These are all sequels, but I think that the first books in each of these series would fit this category too! )
Champion of the Titan Games by Brandon Mull
Crush by Tracy Wolff
Thomas Wildus and the Wizard of Sumeria by J.M Bergen
Spread the Holiday Spirit!
I tag everyone who reads this post on my blog to participate in this tag post!
