New Netflix Holiday Movies | Movie Reviews

What is better during the holiday season than all new holiday movies! I am not really a Hallmark person, but Netflix has been killing it lately with releasing Netflix Original movies especially during the holiday season. So I thought it would make a great Blogmas post to binge all of the new holiday movies on Netflix (well at least most of them) and share my thoughts and opinions. Because thats what I do!

Let it Snow!

4/5

I have never read the book that this movie was based off, but I thought the movie was super cute. I liked all the actors and actresses that were in the movie. I did think it was kind of short and everything happened really fast. There were a lot of storylines and reminded me of the Valentine’s Day and New Years Eve movies that have all those actors in them. Their were some weird things that took place and some odd things that never got explained. And as per usual from Young Adult novel there seemed to be very absent parents/adults. Like how do teens working at a waffle house just throw a party? Overall cute and fun movie!

A Cinderella Story : A Christmas Wish

4/5

I am a sucker for these movies. The original Cinderella Story with Hilary Duff is a classic! I loved the Christmas take on this story. Kat’s Elf costume was so great as well as the last dress! I loved that Isabella Gomez was in this! I am a huge fan of her. There wasn’t much random singing which was nice. And Bruno was an awesome addition! The steps were miserable of course. This was an adorable movie that was a bit of a tear jerker at the end!

Holiday In The Wild

3/5

I did not think that I would like this one at all. It was like 15 mins in and it almost had me in tears. I absolutely love Elephants and hate what people do to them. I adore Rob Lowe. I loved that this was based in Africa! It had the typical holiday romance of two people who have baggage and find each other just in time for the holiday. The elephants really made this movie for me!

Santa Girl

3/5

This of course is not the first movie to focus on the daughter of Santa Claus. This movie was okay. It was a little corny for me. I really liked Pep! I enjoyed that Jack Frost aspect was included and some backstory on how the current Santa came to be. The ending was cute and made up a little bit for the rest of the movie. I felt like it lived up to the true over the top of corny Christmas movies.

Klaus

5/5

I don’t even know where to start with this one. I think this is one of my new favorite Christmas movies. At times it reminded me of Emperors New Grove 🙂 But it was funny and absolutely adorable. It made me cry and that ending was perfection and I didnt see it coming. Also Margu is my favorite! This is something I am going to be recommending everyone to watch.

The Knight Before Christmas

4/5

Give me Enchanted but make it Christmas.

Knights, Old Crones, Time Travel and Chrismas- what else would you need. Why is Vanessa always in Christmas movies with ex boyfriends she is avoiding.

Yes just give a knight from the 1300s your car keys.

Cute Christmas romance, with some real tear jerker moments as many holiday movie do.

Overall the movie was very cute and such a Christmas fairy tale. It was definitely very corny and pun filled.  I could only imagine that next holiday season we will get a second movie.

Holiday Rush

3.5/5

This was a heartfelt movie that really captured the meaning of Christmas/Holiday season and the value of family. The little girls were so entertaining. It seemed to follow that typical holiday movie style of some major crisis that needed to be solved by Christmas. It had a few tear jerker moments and sass.  Overall it had a cute family filled with love and an adorable ending.

A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby

1.5/5

This one was a big flop for me. I felt like it lacked something and was kind of short. Like she was pregnant and they spent the whole movie looking for something that was stolen and then had a baby. It was boring.  The outfits were cute and I enjoyed Emily. There isn’t really much else to say about it. I would not watch it again.

Have you watched any of these movies? What are your thoughts on holiday movies?

  1. The only Holiday movie I’ve seen this year so far has been The Knight Before Christmas, which I actually really enjoyed. I’ve been hoping to watch Let it Snow. I’ve been hearing it’s actually quite good. I haven’t read the book, but I wouldn’t mind a cute, corny Christmas teen flick! Klaus looks SOOOOO good. I was thinking of saving that one for Christmas. And oh boy, I had a feeling The Royal Baby was gonna be a bust. The first one was so absurd, but adorable. The second one was meh. And now this one lol. I’ll watch it, but I think I might hope it’s the last one. Anyways, I hope you’re enjoying your Holiday flicks!! Happy viewing!

    1. You have to watch Klaus ASAP! I have watched it twice already! Yeah after the Royal Christmas I just sat there asking myself what I just watched
