Series I Won't Continue

While going through and figuring out what series I have completed and the series I still have to complete I had discovered there are a lot of series I have started and for one reason or another I do not want to continue on with it. Some have way too many books, there are some I have lost interest in or ones where I read the first books and really did not like the it. If there are any of these that you believe I should give a second chance or that I really need to read let me know.

Of Monsters and Madness Series by Jessica Verday
[I read the first one and just did not enjoy it]
Spademan Series by Adam Sternbergh
[ I read the first one and did enjoy it and found it interesting, but not sure if I want to continue]
Gated Duology by Amy Christine Parker
[ I read the first one and thought I wanted to continue, but I think I am okay with where it left off.]
Faling Star Series by Christine M. Butler
[I feel like if I received the next book I might read it, but wasn’t in love with the first book although it was interesting]
Penryn & the End of Days Series by Susan Ee
[When I thought this was going to be a 6 book series there was no way I was going to continue. The first two books were just okay, but I feel like I might give the series one last chance. I haven’t decided.]
Lies Beneath Trilogy by Anne Greenwood Brown
[I read the first one and not sure if I am feeling where the trilogy is going]
Shadow Children Series by Margaret Peterson Haddix
[I read the first one. I thought it was interesting, but I think I have outgrown this series and it is too long to convince me to continue]
The Hunt Trilogy by Andrew Fukuda
[I read only the first book. I had quite a few problems with it that are keeping me from continuing.]
Fairytale Retellings Series by Jackson Pearce
[I have read one of the books of this series and I am not against reading the others there are just books I would rather read]
The Survival Trilogy by Morgan Rice
[There is no way I will be continuing with this trilogy. I hated the first one and it had so many problems. Its plot was all over the place and had too many errors]
Pretty Little Liars Series by Sara Shepard
[I read the first 4 books out of this 16 book series. It is just too long and I am a huge fan of the tv show and like it better.]
Sisterhood Series by Ann Brashares
[I read the first two books in this series and absolutely loved them, but I feel like I have outgrown the series]
Heart of Dread Trilogy by Melissa De La Cruz
[I couldn’t handle the first book. The concept was interesting but it was so poorly executed]

Total =13

What are your thoughts on these series?

  1. I’ve heard that a lot about Pretty Little Liars – people enjoy the show more than the books. Which is so interesting, it’s usually the other way around. I need to check the show out, hopefully can binge watch it a bit this summer!

  2. I really enjoyed Penryn & the End of Days series. I read the Sisterhood series years ago (except I think there was a recent book published that I haven’t read) and I read Frozen by Melissa De La Cruz and was not a fan. Pretty Little Liars is wayyyyyyy to long for me! As for the other ones, I haven’t really heard of them until now.

  3. I live by the mantra that “life is too short to read books you’re not enjoying”, so I applaud your willingness to set these series aside for other books – that something I still have trouble doing. 🙂
