Top Ten Tuesday| “To Read Or Not To Read”

Untitled design-9

This weeks Top Ten Tuesday topic hosted by Broke and Bookish is Top Ten Books I’m Not Sure That I Want To Read (books you may have bought but aren’t sure if you are into it anymore, books you wanted to read but heard mixed things about, hyped books you aren’t sure about). I feel like I have so many books that kind of fall into this category but are more of I want to read these, but not right now. Some books I bought and really wanted them at the time, but either was not sure of what they were or not in the mood for them.

Les Misérables by Victor Hugo les-miserables-musical-poster-01

This is such a huge book and although I am still interested in reading it, I am not sure if I will ever pick it up. It is a little intimidating.

Anomaly by Krista McGee 16124145

This is a book I do not know much about. I bought it on a whim for really cheap because it looked interesting. I have since than found out that it is part of a series and it just doesn’t rank very high on my TBR right now.

♠ Ysabel by Guy Gavriel Kay

I was given this back in high school by a friend who recommended it to me. I tried to pick up back than and also recently and didn’t get very far. It seems really interesting, but with so many other books it doesn’t win out.

♠  Gone by Michael Grant

I have heard many mixed reviews about this book/series. It seems interesting it is just a long series and I’m not sure if I want to try it out and see if its worth it.

Fallen by Lauren Kate

This is also another book and series I have heard mixed things about. I am still really tempted to pick it up because sometimes you need to read the corny and “trashy” books that lack depth and content. (not saying that this books is any of those things because I haven’t read it and don’t know what it is like) But it could be something I really love.

Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick 6339664

This falls under the same line as Fallen. I have heard mixed things about it and not sure if I want to dedicate money and time to a new series. Although I have a feeling that it might be like a guilty pleasure read.

Touched by Cyn Balog

I bought this book not knowing much about it. Earlier this year I read another book by Cyn Balog and was not happy with it so I am unsure if I want to read this one.

So it is not exactly ten, but that is all I could find or at least consider the thought of not actually reading them. If you have read any of these and feel like they are must reads let me know!

What are some books that you have debated whether to “Read Or Not To Read”?

  1. I’ve been wanting to read Hush, Hush as well. Hmmm. If you do end up reading it, I’ll be interested to see what you think.
I wasn’t sure about Gone either, but I ended up really enjoying the first one. I mean, it’s not the best book I’ve ever read, but it was an enjoyable read. Here’s my review if you’re interested. 🙂
    My TTT

  2. I think Hush Hush is worth it, mostly for Patch though. The main character Nora is really annoying especially in Crescendo , she doesn’t start out that way in Hush Hush though but she’s like that until really the end of the last book. Overall I think the story line is pretty interesting, the whole concept with the fallen angels and the nephilims. And Patch is amazing

  3. Fallen almost made my list, but it’s not one already on my shelf so I don’t totally feel torn about reading it. Hush, Hush is on my shelf though, but I’ve never heard anything but good things. Although it’s not like I was looking hard I suppose.

  4. The Hush Hush series were a guilty pleasure for me, I couldn’t recall many things from those books if I tried but when I read them they did entertain me a lot.

When I read Fallen I was in love with that book, one day I should reread it and see what’s in it that made me so eager to buy all the other books in the series. Well, the second book, Torment was the most disappointing from all of these and I kind of lost interest in this cursed lovers concept.

I hated Gone soo much, I rarely give up on books, I did it like three to five times all my life, and that book was one of them. I didn’t even care enough to try to find on the net how these kids will manage later. Horrible.

I hope I could help some, here’s my list: http://reading-is-dreaming-with-open-eyes.blogspot.hu/2014/08/top-ten-books-im-not-sure-i-want-to-read.html

  5. I’ve actually contemplated reading Hush, Hush and Fallen at some point, but never really added either to my to-reads list because I knew I couldn’t commit. I know Hush, Hush did get quite a bit of hype back when it just got published, though, so maybe it’s worth a look-see?

I’ve only read one book by Guy Gavriel Kay, called Tigana, and I wasn’t a fan, but for all I know maybe he’s done a better job with Ysabel?

  6. After my Twilight binge reading, I was desperate for more paranormal reads and read Hush, Hush and Fallen back to back. Of those two – I loved Hush, Hush a LOT more. Fallen was just okay and I never wanted to finish the series.

I haven’t finished Hush, Hush series, either, but that’s because the time between release of the next books was always too far apart and I completely lost interest. But I do recommend it – it was a really good book!
