#OTSPSecretSister August Package

In case you aren’t aware of what #otspsecretsister is:
The Secret Sister project is essentially a cheer club. Think Secret Santa but all year round (in 6 month intervals) with less emphasis on big presents, and more thoughtful notes, cards, small somethings sent just to let your secret sister know that you are thinking about her!

This is my second round participating in the #otspsecretsister project. The first time I did the pen pal tier and really enjoyed it! There is nothing better than receiving mail! This round I am participating in the top tier. So far I am really enjoying it and love doing the shopping and putting together packages for my secret sister. This is the first package I received from the person who has me and I absolutely love everything that I got.

Green Rider by Kristen Britain – I love that my sister got me a fantasy book that I have never heard of before. I really do love fantasy and I am always looking for new recs.

♣ Mad Hatter Coffee Mug- I am obsessed with Alice in Wonderland if you didn’t already know. I have had various Alice themed mugs in carts online for quite some time but never got around to buying one. This was just perfect and I have used it almost every day since.

♣ The Philadelphia Story- I am a sucker for classic movies and this is one I have never seen before. I do adore Cary Grant so I am excited to watch it! And to know my sister adores this movie is awesome too!

♣ Wizard and Dragon Bookmarks- These are just adorable and so perfect for a lover of fantasy!

♣ White Pumpkin Pie M&Ms- I do love chocolate and although I am trying to cut sweets I have to admit I ate through this bag quite quickly. I love everything fall and pumpkin spiced etc. These were just perfect!

I am excited for Septembers gifts and cant wait to share them and my journey with #otspsecretsister with all of you!

6th Annual Broke & Bookish Secret Santa

SecretSanta6

This was my second year  participating  in Broke & Bookish Secret Santa! I had a total blast participating and I mean who doesn’t love giving and receiving presents! It was so much fun stalking the twitter feed following #TBTBSanta and seeing all the updates and sneak peeks of people presents. It is such a great thing for the book community and its crazy how many people participate. If you have never heard of this before I highly recommend you check out some of the blogs/twitter feed and make sure to keep your eyes open around this time next year! I cannot wait for my person to receive their gifts! I had so much fun shopping for her and really hope she enjoys everything I got her!

IMG_3585

I have to say this year I was absolutely spoiled by Anisaa from Cozmic Rebelle! I am absolutely in love with everything she got me and wish I could give her a huge hug! She nailed me on the head with everything she picked out for me.

IMG_3592

She went crazy and got me so much good stuff including six books, a mug, bookmarks, socks, a scarf, earrings, candy and cupcake mix/frosting! Not only did she get me some books from my wishlist, but she also included some she thought I might enjoy. The books included were Cress by Marissa Meyer, Consequences a bind up of Opal and Origin by Jennifer L. Armentrout, Opposition by Jennifer L. Armentrout, Nearly Gone by Elle Cosimano, Compulsion by Martina Boone and Vengeance Road by Erin Bowman!

On top of the amazing books that I am so excited to read she added in a lot of extra bookish goodies! I absolutely love Alice in Wonderland (duh) so she included cute little White Rabbit earrings! I also am obsessed with coffee and Edgar Allen Poe and what is better than this absolutely adorable Poe mug! Another thing that shouldnt be a secret about me is I have a deep love for cats! My cat is so important to me I love her so much. Anisaa included I love cat socks and an beyond adorable cat scarf! And then of course there are three cute little magnetic bookmarks of Clary from Mortal Instruments, Cress from the Lunar Chronicles and the Cheshire cat!  I am just at a loss of words and I have no idea how to even thank Anisaa enough. I love all of my stuff!

While I Was Away Book Haul

Over the past year I have acquired a lot of books. Some were sent to me for review and others I either bought or got from this amazing free book store. If any of you are from the Baltimore area there is a place called The Book Thing. It is a free book store that has donated books in which you can go in and take as many as you want. It is a wonderful thing for book lovers. Now that I am back home I really wish that I had something like that at my disposal. While going through all these books you might notice something different. I have really started to get into non-fiction lately and especially those non-fiction books that pertain to what I am interested in, went to school for and want a career in!

Twitter Book Haul

FullSizeRenderIn the past month I have been lucky enough to win two twitter giveaways by some fantastic people! It seems like twitter giveaways are the only time I am ever lucky (and believe me I am a very unlucky person haha) I usually retweet twitter giveaways just to do it and never expected to win. So moral of the story: amazing things happen with twitter giveaways so you should check them out if you don’t already! They are so great and so many awesome people are always holding them. A lot of times they are for ARC copies of books before they come out (especially publishing company twitters!) So I would like to thank both Steph @InsomniaBooks and Rachel @hellochelly for their amazing giveaways! (check them out on Twitter!)

Holiday Book Haul!

IMG_2443

I hope everyone had a great holiday! I hope it was spent with friends and family eating way too much food that you are now regretting! I spent the day with my parents and one of my brothers. Basically it was nothing super special, mom made breakfast, we opened gifts and then I spent the whole day reading and watching movies (a pretty typical day for me!) Surprisingly I only have gotten 4 book so far, I haven’t seen my best friend yet and I’m sure she most likely got me something book related and my older brother might have too. But I am really happy with the books I got! Besides these four books I got this Grumpy Cat stuffed animal and was so ecstatic! I love Grumpy Cat <3. I also got these adorable little monster magnetic bookmarks (that I forgot to take a picture of). I also got some money in which I put towards the Boxing Day Bookoutlet Sale!

The Grumpy Guide To Life by Grumpy Cat

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll (I collect copies of this book)

Staying Strong: 365 Days a Year by Demi Lovato

Unhinged by A.G Howard

Did you get any good books for the holidays?
