Popular Books I'll Never Read

While make posts and lists of different favorite books, books read, and books in certain categories, I have discovered that there are some popular books that I will most likely never read. I am not going to go into explanation of the reasons why for each of them. Some have bad reviews by many people, others I have absolutely no interest in reading, but if you would like to know my reasons on one or a few don’t be afraid to ask.
50 Shades of Grey by E.L James
The Matched Trilogy by Ally Condie
The Delirium Trilogy by Lauren Oliver
His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman
An Abundance of Katherines by John Green
The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot
House of Night Series by P.C Cast
The Wolves of Mercy Falls Trilogy by Maggie Stiefvater
American Gods by Neil Gaiman
Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand
If I Stay by Gayle Forman
Millennium Series by Stieg Larsson
Me Before You by JoJo Moyes
Life of Pi by Yann Martel
♠ All of Ellen Hopkins books

What popular books will you never read?

  1. Having read the first 2 of The Delirium Trilogy and both If I stay books, I must say they are not bad, I actually enjoyed them. Aside from those, I haven’t read the other books/series on your list and I know I won’t be reading them any time soon.
I haven’t thought of a list like this. You know, I believe in the never say never deal, and my reading tastes change or evolve so much but so far I’ve avoided western fiction or those BDSM books, so those would make my list.

  2. I will also not read An Abundance of Katherines. I have read John Green’s other books and they are all the same. No thank you. I think I will add Harry Potter to that list. 🙂

  3. I won’t ever read 50 Shades of Grey either for pretty obvious reasons… I’ve actually read most of the books on this list and they weren’t all that good so I don’t think you’re missing anything!

  4. I agree with many, many of these- but personally, I thought I’d dislike An Abundance of Katherines as well as The Wolves of Mercy Falls Trilogy and Life of Pi. So, curious, what’s your thoughts on those? One series I have sworn never to read is Twilight. Not my thing. :

  5. Oh no, I loved American Gods so much!
(don’t worry, i can understand it’s not something everyone is interested in 🙂 )
i have started his dark materials and do plan on finishing it, but i’m a little unshure about how i feel about it. i do really enjoy it, but there’s something about his writing style that i’m not sure if it works for me..
