Friday Reads | First Weekend of the New Year Edition!

With the New Year comes new goals and new books! I have a lot of goals for 2018 and so many books I want to read/series to complete. I have decided to start off with a book I have been meaning to read for quite some time. It was recommended to me by one of my best friends and she is rereading it this month while I read it too! Wild Magic by Tamora Pierce is the first book in the Immortals series and I really want to read this whole series soon, maybe binge read the series. I am also listening to The Female of the Species by Mindy McGinnis. I have not been able to sleep well lately and listening to audiobooks really helps on top of the fact that I am a multitasker by nature and need to read more than 1 book at a time. I am about half way through each of them at the current moment so I am hoping to be able to finish each this weekend and start some others! I am really loving Wild Magic, Pierce’s writing is so fun and the world of Tortall is so detailed and well thought out. I am enjoying seeing characters reappear from the Song of the Lioness Quartet! I am still unsure how I feel about The Female of the Species. It is a little bit darker, which I enjoy, but I am a little confused about the direction its going. We will see what I think as I continue and will be sure to share my thoughts.
