During this challenge, you will progress from a first-year to seventh-year Hogwarts student by completing seven books on your TBR list. But more on that later! To sign-up and find out more about the challenges visit one of the hosts blogs.

Top 5 Books of 2016

top-5-of-2016

I was not able to read many books this year due to my crazy busy schedule. There were a few books that stood out among the rest of the 21 books I did get the chance to read this year. I have decided that because I do not have reviews of all of these books up and wanted to get this posted I would write a haiku for each book on my reasonings behind why I loved them so much!

6547258

THE FINAL EMPIRE

Kickass female lead
Worldbuilding beyond compare
Unique magic use

23299512

THIS SAVAGE SONG

Dark and musical
With a world filled with monsters
No hint of romance

77203

THE KITE RUNNER

Centered in Afghan
Emotionally draining
Uniquely written

29102898

THE CRUELTY

Intrigue and suspense
Reminiscent of Taken
A strong female lead

25164304

OF FIRE AND STARS

Forbidden magic
A tale of two princesses
and courtly intrigue
