12 Days of Books Tag [2015]

Your text here-3

I’ve decided that I wanted to create something fun for the holiday season and this is the tag that I created last year! I had done many tags since I have started book blogging and wanted to add to the fun of the season by creating my own! This song was very fitting for a tag and hope everyone enjoys it! I worked really hard trying to come up with categories that fit into each section of the song, its corny and some of it is a stretch, but whatever!  If you decide to participate and do this tag I would love for you to leave your link so that I may see the choices you made.

On the first day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
A Partridge in a Pear Tree

The Partridge Stood Alone In The Pear Tree? What is Your Favorite Stand Alone of 2015?

This is a hard one. I think I would have to say my favorite stand alone from this year was Volition by Lily Paradis. I read so many great stand alone books this year, but this one really stuck with me and was something I found relatable to an extent. It was beautiful and dark!

On the second day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Two Turtle Doves

Love Is In The Air, Who Is You OTP?

OTPs are always hard for me because I fall in love with the male characters and do not want to give them up. I have to say from this year my OTP would have to be Feyre and Tamlin from A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. Although my unconventional one would have to be Jeb and Morpheus from the Splintered Trilogy by A.G Howard

On the third day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Three French Hens

In The Spirit Of Threes, What Is The Best Trilogy Your Have Read?

I absolutely fell in love with the Splintered Trilogy by A.G Howard. I am usually weird about trilogies because I think they always fall apart at the second book and for most the third book just fails all expectations. That was not the case for these books. They were fantastic and everything I wanted from an Alice in Wonderland retelling!

On the fourth day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Four Calling Birds

Since Series Usually Consist of Four or More Books What Is Your Favorite Series?

One of my goals for the next year is to complete more series. I have started so many and have yet to complete a great deal of them. I have to say though that so far in life my favorite is The Vampire Academy Series by Richelle Mead. It has a special place in my heart! I love Rose Hathaway, she is one kickass female and it so happens that Rose and Dimitri are one of my favorite OTP! Lately I have been wanting to reread this series so bad.

On the fifth day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Five Golden Rings

One Ring To Rule Them All! Who is Your Favorite Villain/Antagonist?

I am absolutely in love with Rhys from A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas! He is everything you want from a bad boy! Another one for this list would have to be Morpheus from Splintered Trilogy by A.G Howard although I wouldn’t say he is much of a villain.

On the sixth day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Six Geese a Laying

Creation Is A Beautiful Thing! What is Your Favorite World/World-Building?

Worlds and World-building are one of my favorite parts of books! I love new worlds and maps and seeing the authors imagination unfold to create a fantastic world along with a story. From this year I fell in love with the world created by A.G Howard, but I would have to say that Rae Carson did an amazing job in A Girl of Fire and Thorns as well as Sarah J. Maas in A Court of Thorns and Roses.

On the seventh day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Seven Swans a Swimming

Who Needs Seven Swans When All It Takes Is One Good Animal Sidekick To Make A Hero Rock! Who Is Your Favorite Animal Sidekick?

I am not sure this would be considered a sidekick, but I love Bambi from The Dark Elements Trilogy by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I mean what is not to love about a big demonic anaconda familiar!

On the eighth day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Eight Maids a Milking

Milk Is So 18th Century! Which Book or Series Takes Beverages/Food To A Whole New Level?

I cannot think of any books that fit this category for me so I am stealing my answer from last year! – For this there was no contest for me. Although I love some of the things from the Wizarding world, Scott Lynch creates an interesting assortment of food and beverages in his Gentleman Bastard Series! Shark, eel, and hybrid and magically created foods and many more develop an interesting element to his stories!

On the ninth day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Nine Ladies Dancing

Dancing is Just One Skill of a Lady! Who is Your Favorite Kickass Female Lead?

There are a lot of awesome kickass females that are written about and being a female I definitely appreciate the females that are intelligent and can save themselves! My favorite from this year would have to be Kricket Hollowell from Under Different Stars by Amy A. Bartol !

On the tenth day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Ten Lords a Leaping

Leaping Lords? How About Who Is Your Favorite Leading Lad?

There is no question about this! If you have not read The Martian by Andy Weir you need to right now! Not only is this book absolutely awesome, but Mark Watney is a hilarious male character. He is intelligent and super witty!

On the eleventh day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Eleven Pipers Piping

Where Would We Be Without Music? What Is Your Favorite Book or Bookish Thing That Deals With Music? (It can be about music, reference music a lot etc.)

I absolutely love when authors include playlists in their books either songs that match the books or what they listen to when they write. For me I have discovered that it is done in Ann Aguirre’s 2B Trilogy as well as Volition by Lily Paradis

On the twelfth day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
12 Drummers Drumming

Drum Roll Please…………………….What Is Your Favorite Read of This Year?

I plan on making a list of my favorites from this year, I just have not gotten to it yet because I haven’t read many books this year. This is so hard because there are many different books that I loved this year for very different reasons. I’d have to go with Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. I just felt such a connection to it and it was a beautiful and adorable read that so many people can relate to!

I hope you participate in this tag and leave me links to your answers! Happy Holidays!
