Character Exploration of a Fierce Female – Kiva

Character Exploration of a Fierce Female Kiva

In exploring characters that possess those qualities of a fierce female, most of the times I think of those main characters found in books. Recently I read The Storm Crow by Kalyn Josephson and was immediately drawn to Kiva, the best friend and “sidekick” to the main character, Princess Anthia. There were many reasons why I was drawn to her, and although I think Josephson really tried to highlight her as well, I think Kiva is an under-appreciated fierce female!

Now if you haven’t read this book yet, I want to let you know that Anthia is also a fierce female and has many fantastic qualities that are worthy of the title and deserving of her own exploration. Let me know what you think of my new feature, Character Exploration of a Fierce Female Kiva!

” Kiva grinned down at me, her moonlight-colored hair free from it characteristic braid and down to her shoulders in waves. She still wore her castle guard uniform, making her look older– sometimes I doubted she owned anything else. She even had a sword at her hip.”

— The Storm Crow by Kalyn Josephson

Character Exploration of a Fierce Female Kiva

An amazing best friend, she goes great lengths for Anthia.

Makes extreme sacrifices for those she loves, willing to give up all she has worked for to protect Anthia.

She is training to be a castle guard, which is pretty bad ass.

Sharp tongued woman with some witty/sassy comebacks!

A skilled fighter with a sword!

A huge flirt , that exudes confidence who doesn’t care what others think.

F/F rep!

Always at the side of Anthia, shielding and protecting.

A confidant and sounding board with the situations the girls find themselves in.

Bravery and strength lead her to the fore front of dangerous situations regardless of the outcome as long as she is protecting those she cares about.

What are some of your favorite fierce female qualities?
