2018 Beat The Backlist Challenge |May Update

I have some really big goals for myself with this new year, both personally and with regards to books. This will be the first year that I will be in one place (hopefully) not juggling school or the constant traveling I have experience that past few years. I am really trying to focus on myself and trying to limit distractions and drama. One of my biggest book goals next year is to read the books I own and definitely catch up on series I am so far behind on or that I need to read. (Shoutout to Alex @ Booksy Daisy for posting her tbr and convincing me to do this!) Beat the Backlist hosted by Novel knight is the perfect challenge. (I do better when I am able to mark off a list so challenges work so well for me) Now I cannot make promises that the books I list are going to be the ones I actually read, but it is the goal to get these ones specifically. I am setting myself the goal of 50 books! I haven’t decided what I want my year goal to be, but with the hopes of tackling the books on my shelf I definitely want to focus more on the backlist and older books!

  • The challenge will run from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018.

Down The Read-A-Thon Hole Challenge | TBR

The time has come my little friends to talk of many things, of books, and blogs and readathons, of blogiversaries!

With my 5 year blogiversary quickly approaching I thought it would be fun to host a Read-A-Thon. With my obsession with Alice in Wonderland I thought it would only be appropriate to make it an Alice in Wonderland themed read-a-thon. I reached out to some other book bloggers to help me with this because I love getting others inputs and sharing the love.

WHAT IS THE DOWN THE READ-A-THON HOLE CHALLENGE  ?

The  Down The Read-A-Thon Hole Challenge runs from Thursday, February 1 to Thursday, February 15. During this read-a-thon you will select books to complete a bingo card, with each box earning you points as well as a bingo. In addition to the main challenge, you will have opportunities to earn even more points by participating in the themed bonus challenges using a blog/twitter/instagram.

Down The Read-A-Thon Hole Challenge TBR

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll [Alice in Wonderland]

The Looking Glass Wars by Frank Beddor [Through the Looking Glass]

The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan [Knave of Hearts (because it has thief in the title I am counting it!)]

Hunting Ground by Patricia Briggs [Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum]

Turtles All The Way Down by John Green [March Hare]

The Problem With Forever by Jennifer L. Armentrout [Dinah]

Are you planning on participating? What are you going to read?

Off With The Books! |Monthly TBR Takedown

I want to start to tackle my TBR and working on cleaning up my shelves/minimizing my TBR pile. I have a lot of books that have been on my TBR pile since I started my book blog over 5 years ago. I feel like I either need to make time to read these books or unhaul them. So I plan on selecting 4 books every month and have everyone vote/help me pick which one to read that month. If I do not get around to it or read it within that month it was selected I need to get rid of it. I need to stop holding onto books that I am no longer interested in reading and make room for new books and one I really want to read.

Book Selection for February

Which of these do I need to read in Feb ? Please help me choose, leave a comment below!
